Jeremy Corbyn will not return as Labour MP, says Sir Keir Starmer

Most of the young couldn't give a flying f*** about Corbyn.

Sure, there's an unrepresentative minority cohort (as there always is) who are politically engaged and activists, but the majority of the young are not part of this. And they will grow up to be just like the majority of the rest of the electorate. Make of that what you will.

And as for those who do "love Jezza and what he stands for" - Do they really? One of my observations of the last few years is that his younger supporters tended to project onto him. They saw in him what they wanted to see, not what was really there. They claimed him as a champion of whatever cause they wanted, regardless of reality (i.e. him as a remainer). He was suddenly being elevated to the status of this great visionary leader, when in fact he was nothing of the sort.

It's understandable to some degree. We have to remember that, back when he was first elected leader, the membership was sick to the back teeth of focus-group politics being peddled by sharp-suited PPE career politicians. They had grown desperate for someone, anyone, who had deeply held principles. It's just a shame that they reached this moment of realisation at the exact point in time when it was Corbyn's turn to throw his hat in the ring.

I feel sorry for him to an extent, as he is clearly getting shafted. But he's now just collateral and, as unfair as it may be, he's now doing his causes more harm than good through his ongoing association.

Whilst not disputing this latest character is the same as taxio, do we know who is behind the taxio character? Could it be possible that there's some sort of Inceptiony boarding going on here, like an alias within an alias?

As in Taxio might not really be Taxio but instead could be someone else who's created Taxio to hide their identity? And then keeps coming back as variants of Taxio? Deep.

Excellent comment. Basically nowadays ( especially in the case of Trump supporters ) so many people living in their own little bubbles fueled by internet conspiracy theory's and alternative universes where the world is just how they want it to be, rather than the reality of how it really is.

I have a lot of friends of the older generation who in the past always voted for the Labour party, including 10 who have moved back up North to be nearer their relatives as they get older. Few of them liked Corbyn, some even detested him. From conversations with them, those who still vote for the Labour party are more comfortable with having Starmer as the new Leader. On average, I think that more people prefer the middle ground of politics rather than the extremes of the left or right.

That's nice.

But it's not all about the oldies, their time is almost up.

It's about the young. And they love Jezza and what he stands for.

Jeremy is on his final bow now and will he even be standing for election next time round ?

He should retire after having brought through the next generation of mild mannered reform minded vaguely left wing social democrats.
