My wife keeps making false representations over a BJ.spen666 wrote: ↑Wed May 29, 2019 1:27 pm Can anyone identify EXACTLY what false representation BJ made
Can you identify how it was made by BJ and when it was made
And finally
Can you prove the representation as made was indeed false and that BJ knew it was false?
Those are the sort of things that will have to be proved by admissible evidence before a jury

Everything remainers warned about has come true so far, smaller economy for example, and we haven't even left yet

What 'lies' exactly. Predictions of what might happen aren't lies, even if they prove to be wrong.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Wed May 29, 2019 5:15 pmRedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Wed May 29, 2019 1:06 pm If Boris gets convicted over this it will open up a can of worms . The UK are a net contributor to the EU, to the tune of £6.5m. That takes into account the infamous rebate and money that comes back into the country in the form of grants etc. That makes us just the 5th highest contributor per capita and about 0.32% of GDP.
That's about a third of the amount Leave were using. It was a deliberate misdirection, but I'm not sure if it could be called a lie

Mostly all politicians ''Bend the truth'' some more than others.
Problem is that they end up believing in their own ''Porky Pies'' !!
As to the ''Bus Slogan'' well anyone with any sense only had to work out for themselves money paid in as to money we got back to see this was a ''Highly unlikely claim'' to say the least !! Of course the Remain side also made some equally silly claims ( Project Fear ) as to what would happen if UK voted out. Perhaps the best thing is to abolish all the House of Commons along with the House of Lords and start all over again !!

Be interesting to see how he arrives at £360 million. Got to be more than our Gross contribution. Even at a push I can only get to £250 million. Ant that excludes rebates.

Re: Boris off to court for lies during Brexit Campaign
Will Osborne be in court for saying they’ll be an immediate recession were we to vote Leave? Will Clegg be in court over tuition fees? Will May be in court for saying we’d leave on the 29th March over 100 times? I suspect not.
Most grown ups realise that politicians – and let’s be generous – put as positive a spin on what they want as they can, to try to convince the electorate to vote their way. It’s happened for centuries and will continue happening, it’s hardly ‘Hold the front page’ news. So us the electorate have to make judgement calls, and we can take revenge on the politicians next time if we think they deserve it.
There was much spin put in the referendum campaign on both sides, and all of it was challenged robustly by the other side at the time. To try some legal process years after is politically motivated, and I hope it gets thrown out, for would be a very slippery slope for politics otherwise and ultimately I suspect do more harm than good, for Politics would risk getting bogged down in constant legal challenges.

Re: Boris off to court for lies during Brexit Campaign
Look a little deeper and you find it is also down to rescheduling downtime and the general decline in car production due to tensions between the US and China and other things. Not saying Brexit hasn’t affected this, but it’s politicians creating uncertainty that is the issue and not Brexit itself, evidenced by previous post vote increases. As Brown told us endlessly during the big crash - we live in a global economy and get affected by international issues.Disoriented wrote: ↑Thu May 30, 2019 5:18 amLook at this month’s car production figures and you will know it is more Project Reality.Sid Bishop wrote: ↑Wed May 29, 2019 11:51 pmMost of the TV News and MPs of the Remain side were ( and still are ) projecting non stop Project Fear and Gloom !!
Interesting how some jump on one statistic and proof, yet choose to call other things like unemployment, numbers in work etc all lies that don’t tell the truth because they show a positive situation despite Brexit.
The trait of the extremist perhaps.
Interestingly, look at the table on the BBC page and use this to compare the progress under the current Government and the decline under Labour. Even after this drop it still beats many years production under Labour. The current decline has many causes yet sales still top the last few precrash years of Labour.

Re: Boris off to court for lies during Brexit Campaign
Personally I feel the project fear campaign was the biggest boost for Brexit with many people reacting against being bullied by the remain camp.
I wonder if the remain camp had taken a different route, by promoting the benefits of being in, rather than the fears of being out, the result would have been different.

Car production figures are down the world over. Cutback due to many things including China economic slowdown leading to less car sales, over production, slowdown of diesel car production and the move to switch over to alternative power such as electric cars.Disoriented wrote: ↑Thu May 30, 2019 5:18 amLook at this month’s car production figures and you will know it is more Project Reality.Sid Bishop wrote: ↑Wed May 29, 2019 11:51 pmMost of the TV News and MPs of the Remain side were ( and still are ) projecting non stop Project Fear and Gloom !!

Car production has fallen worldwide leading to cutbacks in production all over the world, many reasons for that.cockhat wrote: ↑Thu May 30, 2019 7:38 amProject fear? UK was warned that unemployment soar, in actual fact unemployment has continued to fall.
The UK Pound was over valued and has fallen but on recent average has hovered around $1.30 from the previous average of around $1.45, that is a decline of 10% not 20%. World Currency does go up and down, that's as it is. The result of the lower UK Pound is that is that it has boosted exports.
The cry for more Doctors and Nurses is an age old thing. Part of the reason is pressure on the NHS due to the rise in immigration. Ever been down to your local Doctors and seen so many more patients now than in the past ? If we were to leave the EU, it would open the door to bridging the shortage we have now by letting Doctors and Nurses come to UK from Countries like India, Australia, New Zealand and Philippines, all Countries who's people are keen to come to UK especially the many well qualified and hard working Philippine Nurses who would like to come toc work in the UK. The World is full of opportunities, its really a case of the ''Cannot be dones'' verses ''It can be done's'' UK free of the EU could have more opportunities, be more selective of whom we let into the Country, have its own fishing grounds back also free up our farmers to increase food production and make full use of the land they have. At present Farmers are paid subsidies NOT to produce food, so if we can increase our own home grown produce, then we do not have to import so much food produce from other Countries.
I am an optimist and see the glass as half full, rather than half empty.
Anyway, I had my birthday on Friday, 72 years old. Worked hard all my life and still working hard when I am able. Going out now to do some gardening and painting at my lady friends house so going out now. Up the Os !!

Re: Boris off to court for lies during Brexit Campaign
I wonder if there'll ever be a time when everyone can tell the difference between a) a prediction that fails to materialise and b) a statement of "fact" that is a lie.
"You can have your own opinions, you can't have your own facts"
"You can have your own opinions, you can't have your own facts"
