Sometimes when you get something wrong is it not better to correct your original mistake rather than plough and make it worse?

Whilst it should never have came to this, the government has shown a position of strength to acknowledge and fix their original error of judgement.

But I’m sure Tuffers you will just continue to slag them off even when they do a good thing.

If we dont do a deal with the EU , then when we leave the EU officially on Jan1st, mayhem will be cast upon us.
Im wondering if one brexiteer, will have the courage to come on here and admit they got it wrong, and admit that leaving the EU was a massive mistake

Well over it Pammy - the argument for a 2nd referendum etc was lost long ago.

It's happening and us remoaners can only hope it won't be an utter omnishambles.

Do you ever wish you/remainers in general had run with "we accept the referendum (lol) but because it was so close a soft Brexit reflects the result" then pushed for an EEA/EFTA style deal?

Labour, SNP and a lot of the Tories (including maybe May's cabinet) would've backed that and it could be easily sold to the public

Instead remains goal was always 2nd ref/revoke which allowed the ERG to monopolise the leave side and make it a binary choice between their Leave Vs 2nd Ref

You went for the Car and lost it all

This absolutely - it should have happened really quickly (led by Cameron who'd precipitated it) and we should have struck the "Norway" deal immediately, before the "no-deal-at-all-costs" and the FBPE loons took over both ends of the argument and we are where we are.

Very much inclined to agree. I doubt many of the 52% would've cared had that been the opening gambit and (though they'll never admit it) Eurosceptic types would've bitten of your hand for EFTA 2 years prior

Instead the call was almost immediately for a second referendum which allowed ERG to play the "your votes don't count card" and indoctrinate the 52% into pure brexit or no brexit bollocks and convince people their version of Brexit was what they voted for.

Quite short sighted by the remain side who I'd guess were acting out of fear that any acceptance of leave would alienate their base

Yes. It was where I initially thought we'd end up immediately after the referendum. Whilst I might not like the result, I've never been massively keen on overturning a democratic vote. The blame for this sh*t-show rests entirely with the conmen, not the conned. If I'd have thought the promises Boris et al had made, I'd have voted for it as well.

Once Cameron had f*cked off, the whole thing became a bigger shitshow with Auntie Theresa trying to satisfy the wants of utter goons like Redwood, Baker and the rest of the ERG.

'Tis what it is now. Obviously I'd rip yer arm off to stay in the EU but I can only hope it's not as big a shitefest as it's looking like it'll be now.
