Ross McCormack
The Villa striker is contracted to the club for another year, and is set to see his wage rocket up to £70,000 a week despite having not played a league game for the club since January 2017.
Madness.
Madness.

Re: Ross McCormack
Not his fault. It's the ridiculous economics and bad management of clubs up and downs the country.
Now they have been promoted it wont make a difference but a few more years in the championship, after the parachute payments dried up, they would have been in a load of trouble. See Portsmouth.

Re: Ross McCormack
Perhaps he has a promotion contract clause and there is naff all the club can do about it. I guess when he signed it was on the basis he would play, don’t know why he hasn’t but that’s possibility not the issue if such a clause exists. Wouldn’t surprise me these days. Contracts have all sorts of clauses, including relegation clauses.

Re: Ross McCormack
He was on loan at Motherwell from January and was sent back early because he is finished. I personally wouldn't pay him a penny more than 7p a week.

Re: Ross McCormack
But what is the solution? And who is it wrong for? Not the players and managing making a fortune. Cant be for the club fans as most games are sell outs. Replica kit makers cashing in, TV fighting over rights and paying billions for the privilege. People across the globe who fill bars and pubs watching games whilst buying drinks.
For me what is wrong is the pittance.that finds its way down to smaller clubs, without whom the big boys would lose a source of talent.

Re: Ross McCormack
That was the previous majority owner, Dr Tony Xia, at the end of last season. He sold 55% of the club last July to the new owners (an Egyptian billionaire and an American billionaire) and is now Vice-Chairman.
