The Salvation Army

The best of a bad bunch. At least they do some good at times. Having said that, I quit as a junior soldier, age 9, disillusioned due to the lack of weapons training

They have a shop in our High Street selling assorted tat from every decade since the end of the war.

I suspect Gilso gets his stock for his Tattatoria from there

I understand that they do a lot of work with the homeless etc. That should be applauded.

Got a lot of time for the Sally Army, they had a Citadel on the corner of my turning in Walthamstow.
Usually give them and Crisis a donation at Christmas, do good work for the homeless.
Do they still come round the pubs with the War Cry or Young Soldier?

Old boy I used to work with said that when he was called up for national service, he was put in the Army. When they asked him what religion he was he said ''The SA'' When asked what he meant he said ''The Salvation Army'' ! lovely old guy and all his family ( still see his son who lives round the corner from me ) were in the Salvation Army. When I see his son, we often talk about his dad who was a real character ! Yes good people who do a lot of good work for those in need and I buy the pack of Christmas cards which they send to me at Christmas.
