Is driving silly little cars round in circles for hours on end really a sport.

Even darts is more of a sport than that.

I’ve never owned a sports car or even a Sports Utility Vehicle.

They're only called that because they are designed to carry skis and rugby gear and the like to enable travel to a proper sport venue.

Frankly there is no comparison really, is there?
I know bugger all about F1 or Hamilton, just as I know bugger all about boxing and that Antony Joshua fella. The only thing I have heard about them is how they used to be really popular, then that changed after speaking out on BLM.

Is the reason Hamilton moved to Switzerland really just to save tax, or are there some work related reasons for doing so?
He was living in Monaco with wa whole load of other drivers and he moved for tax reasons as admitted by his dad. See below link.

Increasing tax just means rich people find ways not to pay it.

So are you saying don't increase taxes or increase taxes? Or some sort of middle way solution?

Max you full well know that if you increase the tax too much you will get tax flight. Look at the 50p rate labour introduced people evaded it as it was considered too high, the tories reduced it, got slaughtered for it yet the tax take went up as people felt it was a little fairer than before.

I personally was in agreement of the higher rate of tax by the way.

He is super rich, so just how much money does Lewis Hamilton want to put away in his various bank accounts and various places of investments. I have got no time at all for these so called celebrities who do everything they can to avoid paying UK taxes yet still claim to be British as a sort of flag of convenience. I certainly think that mega rich people who go out of their way to avoid paying UK taxes should never be in line for all the phony awards and so called ''Honours'' that are regularly handed out here in the UK. Come to that, about time the yearly honours list was scrapped altogether.

Seems to work in Norway

Taxation in Norway is levied by the central government, the county municipality (fylkeskommune) and the municipality (kommune). In 2012 the total tax revenue was 42.2% of the gross domestic product (GDP). Many direct and indirect taxes exist. The most important taxes – in terms of revenue – are VAT, income tax in the petroleum sector, employers' social security contributions and tax on "ordinary income" for persons. Most direct taxes are collected by the Norwegian Tax Administration (Skatteetaten) and most indirect taxes are collected by the Norwegian Customs and Excise Authorities

Not making any suggestions about the rate, just the way it is. There will always be rich people who want to keep their money and have the means to do so. Not all rich people of course.

So if increasing taxes means that the rich actually pay less tax, you'd think they'd be all for it.

So why aren't we seeing splashes across the media (owned by VERY rich men) demanding higher taxes for the wealthy? Why aren't all those rich Tory donors demanding an increase in the higher rate in exchange for their bribes, sorry - contributions?. Strange that all those Tory MPs with their second jobs as "advisors" and non-Exec Directorships don't just vote through higher taxes for those earning over £50K. They'd all be quids in, wouldn't they?
