Turley isn't a right back
Brophy is a winger
McAnuff doesn't have the legs for three games in a week
JMD has always flattered to deceive

Jobi has to go back to left wing.

He came inside when he had lost a yard of pace with this groin injury. But since coming back this season, he’s regained it. He looks as fit and as sharp as I’ve seen him in an Orient shirt. He has as much ‘legs’ as anyone else in our midfield.

How can you think Widdowson-Brophy is a better option than Brophy-Jobi?

Same on the right, how could you give Judd-JMD the nod over Turley-JMD? The former is just too light weight.

We dont have the players for a flat back four, two full backs not upto it. Also Ruel is wasted out there play him up alongside Johnson.
3-5-2 wing backs Judd, Ling or Thomas with Brophy on left. Akinola,Turley and Happe centre backs. Ruel and DJ up front. Jobi must be on the pitch as much as possible.

Because despite all the promises, Brophy hasn't been able to get forward playing LB. And Jobi's day on the wing are well behind him.

Judd is the hardest tackler we have. TBF I'd be happy with Turley at RB but prefer him at CB.

That sounds more like 4-4-1-1 if you want Ruel to roam and leave the right flank. Actually Ruel roaming a bit, i like. Cisse and clay dont have pace to cover Jobi.
With my formation the two wing backs cover both wide flanks and Jobi can have Cisse and Clay close to him in the middle but also one can help support our defenders and that still leaves a flexible four in midfield. It's known as movement around the pitch or a diamond.
In a flat back four our full backs are national league level in a wing back formation there may be a spot for Sam.

Well to be fair id set it up as an inverted W
Which technically is
42211 , but we wanna keep it simple so 4-5-1 .

Trouble with your system is everybody plays it .
A 4-5-1 with named players allows Ruel the chance to run at players
Or to face up with them, therefore unbalancing the oppo back 4
If they face a 2 theyll just nulify it .

Anyway its as basic plan as you have to have to have flexibility depending on
the merits of your oppo on any given day.

Jobis days on the wing have come back, that was my main reason for posting this line up. He has that yard of pace back.

Fair play fella - you need to consider the negative impact of Covid on the squad.

Vigouroux

Judd. Akinola. Happe. Widdowson

JMD. Clay Cisse. Brophy

Wilkinson Johnson

Subs
Sargeant
Turley
Coulson
McAnuff
Dennis
Angol
Sotiriou

That's a helluva strong bench & an experienced one at that.
If Jobi was 28 he'd be starting every week, but I'd prefer to use him as a sub on around 55 minutes to an hour either changing the game or protecting a lead with his knowhow & game management.

I'm not as convinced by JMD as others. Think he's too much of a luxury out wide. I'd have him behind the forward(s) or not at all, but that risks either exposing the midfield even more or playing one up front and leaving out Wilkinson or Sotiriou.
