Tuffers. In the war everyone carried on regardless of the danger. There is no comparison. Also , the restrictions, if not lockdown , have already been 8 months. Who knows how much longer. You have a limited period when you are young at your peak. Why should they have to sacrifice that time in their life. A year or two in your 40s/50s for example , is nothing. When you are 18 , it is.

Again? Really? 40% of all hospital admissions since August have been among people aged below 60, so the "shield the vulnerable, let me get back to normal as the NHS will cope" argument has been thoroughly debunked.
Eh? How? We haven't even attempted to shield the vulnerable.

They were from march & were lifted around end of july .
Rules applied were ignored as you can see in various news stories & clips so not 8 months.

The last major war happened in times where people werent
so involved in an impatient society.

Todays young would throw such a strop &
be crying at the 1st time of being shouted at by a sergeant
in training.
Theyd need counselling for life at the sight of seeing there
1st Dead body !

Most of them need a reality check &
a good dose of humility

Rubbish.

And most of the boys in the first and second world wars needed councilling, but didn’t get it because people were ignorant.

The young are always attacked as being selfish, or soft, or stupid by older generations. Probably for hundreds of years.

You’re just getting old mate. Every new generation seems alien and like shirkers. Not sure fighting for rich people because they are told to is a good template for judging humility

Infection rates are increasing most quickly among the over-85s.
I have just copied that from BBC news/statistics.
As upsetting as that figure may be it does not warrant locking down 68 million people.

Why should people who have not had a life yet , sacrifice there life for those that have.

I know that is a brutal statement , but it needs to be put out there for discussion

[/quote]

Back to Geroge
Sacrificing there lives for those whove had a life.

No they have sacrificed a few months like everybody else.

Its sh*t mate. Like really sh*t.

Everyone has to sacrifice for each other but it doesn't mean its still not sh*t. Was talking the other day to a mate about if this happened when we were 21 and out 5/6 nights a week. Would have been fuming. Along side the fact that every generation of 18-30 year olds are selfish. And then theres the fact that they aren't as at risk. I feel for them.

Their freedoms are being limited because of a virus that largely doesn't affect them, 9k a yr degrees taught online and being saddled with debt that will last their lifetime. Other than that, what are they moaning about?

PoliticO. I don’t really have a view on National service. I doubt many would partake if they were asked. We are such a multicultural country now.

While I agree with that, the reason people are getting the hump with it all is because there is no light at the end of the tunnel.
