Ling is literally the fullback who has it all. He is zero attacking threat and can’t defend for toffee.

Widdowson was a rock solid LB for us winning the NL, should've been one of two players in that position competing for the LB gig. The fact he's ended up at CB now with a winger in his place speaks volumes.

Speaks volumes about ross the boss more like. James is so wasted at left back, but our pro licence book reading head coach knows better than most I guess. Or does he?

It does not take long for the naysayers to come out, does it?

To be fair, pointing out that a left back shouldn’t be playing as starting XI CB doesn’t exactly make somebody a naysayer.

Exactly . Why we haven't brought in a new CB is puzzling .

Widowson has proved himself for us at LB. I don’t mind him at CB but understand others disagree, that’s fair enough. But he’s a Div 4 player.

Lung is a different matter. Everyone knows he’s not up to it at this level - us fans, the opposition, his team mates, he must know it himself. There’s only 2 people who can’t see it.

My guess is the budget verses the projected loss and trying to keep the loss down as low as possible and closer to the pre covid projected loss verses what’s expected now.

From REs latest interview he hinted that another player may be coming in before Monday. Why does he not play the Spurs loaner at RB instead of Ling

I can only think he is not up to speed yet, surely he’s not come here to not even make the squad?

If you don’t mind him at CB then you don’t mind us getting relegated.

I find it strange that a right back was brought in about 4 weeks ago, yet Ling, who is inferior to the new guy, is still playing on a regular basis.
If Widdowson is a centre back, I'm king of Siam. It's blatantly obvious he isn't.
I expected to lose today. Almost no training for 2 weeks, and illness in the camp, was obviously going to affect the boys. Might take a few weeks to get back to fitness.

I mean for 2 of those weeks we didn't play, plus there have only been 5 opportunities to play in that time and in 2 of those games Thomas has started. He just needs a bit of time I'd reckon.

Today was always going to be a loss in the circumstances. No big deal. We'll bounce back.

I agree about JW.....was good last season at LB too once he got up to speed. Broph I would prefer to see at LM but he has done well at LB but it is JW that has said to the gaffer about playing at CB in which he has gone for. I think we need a new centre half but considering this is our first defeat (especially since we have had COVID over the last two weeks), Ross can't be blamed.

Frankly never rated Widdowson particularly highly as either a left back or centre back !

Think it says something about the manager that players are telling him where they will play rather than other way around. Wilkinson brought in as a striker tells Embleton he wants to be a winger instead now Widdowson turns into a CB. It's all very strange.

Agree with that too but the start we have made shows that Ross is manager material for us but fans are looking for every chance to say 'Ross out'. They have been very quiet in the last month but low and behold, a defeat brings them back.

*Ross comes up as Boss for some reason!

As per previous it's the magical 10 league game mark you can start to draw conclusions. Cups are just a distraction. What we saw today was a side who had us figured out from the off (apparently their manager said as much).

I remember we started well under Hendon with Clohessy flinging crosses in but soon as sides twigged it there was no plan B. Will see what happens from here.

He's from Norwich , you're getting mixed up with Marsh. Maybe he had the virus but if he's fit I would certainly give him a go .

Honestly how can you watch Ling every week and say he is league 2 standard ? You either only pay for the commentary or your related to him but he is useless and widdowson compared to the likes of previous left backs could be up there with the worst. Brophy is not even a defender and better at LB.

We need a new CB to cover Coulson or replace him if possible and Thomas needs to play or we will continue to leak goals and Ling will continue to not stop crosses 👌
