Bury Fc

Post by Bergen »

They have won promotion to League One, but not paid their players for 12 weeks!

And, now their manager is on the way to Plymouth Argyle (League Two).

It`s very sad.

If their players are not getting paid they can just walk away from their contract and the club. It happened to us just before we got relegated out of the league. Is it worth us taking a look at any of them to join us.?

Just goes to show the professionalism of the players and staff to attain that success.

However, it once again highlights another bad owner. I think there needs to be a fit and proper test brought in on the viability of clubs to continue in business over the course of a 12 month period.

In Italy don't club gets relegated if the finances are not in order? How many clubs are going to have financial issues before one goes pop for good?

A sad and sorry state of affairs I'm afraid.

Bury fans have raised £900 of shopping vouchers to help staff who have not been paid wages.

No one should be allowed to own a club without raising enough money to pay the wages over the following season. Money should be kept in an account to makes sure wages were paid in time. Can`t be that difficult.

No doubt certain members will be on here soon telling you what a stupid suggestion that is and how there’s absolutely nothing wrong with how things currently are, before banging on about some obscure contract laws that nobody cares about.

It's sad because they have cheated their way to promotion by having players they clearly can't afford.

Heh - I told you on the Bolton thread the Bury chair is a bit of a fruitloop with the writing skills of Angelieri. Noticed Nicky Adams, who we had on loan, is the Bury players spokesman as they’ve gone public with their gripes.

Even Angelieri's English was better than this guy's. More like the writing skills of faith/lofcbarry

Other than not being paid, what's the issue there from the players perspective?

We should all care and look out for each other. When we were going through tough times people stood up donated cash and helped support what Loft and others were doing.

They have won the FA twice and are a proper football club with a bunch of loyal fans. They deserve everyones respect.

Especially from us.

Hang on. They overspent and got promoted and went bust. So cheated the League.

We tried to buy two leagues and got relegated and were punished accordingly.

I don`t disagree with that. My point is that their staff, players and fans haven`t done anything wrong. They're the ones who suffer.

Exactly, it was the same with us when we dropped out the league and nearly went out of business . Thank God we had Nigel and Kent to save us .
