I agree on the whole, I think they just trusted the medical staff. But like you say, everything comes down to money. So what would they have done if they were permitted to play?
More credible that they had an XI who would have undoubtably lost but secured the TV money. They don't want to play this XI in the league and squander 3 points. Although they stupidly are risking a points deduction.
O's give up on playing Spurs... Allegedly.

Indeed, and if I'm getting paid a six-figure salary at a time when every other sod is having to count the pennies, I'd better be sharp enough to spot these risks when they emerge - and then if we get caught out, to at least front up and explain myself.BiggsyMalone wrote: ↑Thu Sep 24, 2020 7:57 pmI agree on the whole, I think they just trusted the medical staff. Indeed not. However they apparently did a question and answer sheet each morning before training.
Get real if someone had temperature, headaches etc. Then surely these medics should have been concerned!
How many people At the club have tested positive? And how many people have they infected?

Since the start of the season we have like everyone else followed the rules and guidelines set out by the EFL. No Carabao cup game this week and we would have played Walsall this Saturday, no problem.
I wished people would stop pleading guilty and throwing Orient onto the fire!!
EFL are the problem...proper test everyone else.

Serious question.
Let’s say we refused to take the tests, the game gets played loads of players from spurs get covid. Would there have been a potential legal case to answer and or could we be sued for endangerment or some such action!

Well Travis has successfully dragged you lot into the weeds.
From their own mouths we now know that there were several symptomatic players, beginning a whole week previously, after visiting a known COVID hotspot - and we didn't think to have any of them tested, and we continued to ask them all to come to work throughout this whole period.
We haven't got a leg to stand on in any dispute, civil or criminal. Tonight was just about keeping the fans onside.

Probably
Doesnt mean we did anything wrong as we followed EFL & Goverment guidelines
So no potential for spurs against us .
Maybe against the EFL & secondarily us .

Thats not what i'm saying...we took a test at the request of Spurs which is the English Premier League type test other EFL teams playing premier league opponents did not or refused to take same test.OyinbO wrote: ↑Thu Sep 24, 2020 9:27 pm"We'd have got away with it if we hadn't been caught!"AckneyAwks wrote: ↑Thu Sep 24, 2020 9:00 pmWe shouldant lose points or face any financial sanctions as none of this would have come to light if we werent playing Spurs or a premier league team.OyinbO wrote: ↑Thu Sep 24, 2020 7:49 pm

The EFL test is of a lesser standard and apparently is hardly taken at all. The EFL should have addressed this or stop playing games. Dont just pin everything on Orient although they need to answer some serious questions.
Culmination of faults all round.

All parties really need to go back to the core of the virus impact on the country from the start and integrate all parties responsibility from there -
1. Government
2. WHO
3. All legislation passed including recommendations or guidelines
4. EFL
5. Lofc
Then we see and can work out if lofc made the correct decisions at critical times or milestones - transparency on decisions will be paramount.
We need to all be a solid group on this and focused solely on our best wishes for all affected

Yes, I saw that Travis tried to kick the blame up to the government etc. Far be it from me to try and defend those venal gangsters, but people at the club need to be accountable for this too. Teague was just about the only one who even hinted that the club should accept some responsibility.
Just as our government can already be shown to be handling this issue particularly badly, as our excess deaths per head of popn and economic performance are worse than almost all comparable countries, LOFC may well turn out to be not just the first EFL club to get found out, but the one with the single highest number of confirmed infections at the same time.
We've had a shocker here, and Travis knows it. He's just showing how good he is at crisis management.

No because you can’t prove where it was caught.
We were offered the chance to test, of course we were right to take the opportunity.
It’s scandalous that other clubs are refusing to, they are the ones who should be looked at.

https://www.leytonorient.com/2020/09/25 ... hotspur-2/N ACCORDANCE WITH CARABAO CUP RULES, TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR HAVE BEEN AWARDED WITH A BYE TO PROGRESS TO ROUND FOUR OF THE CARABAO CUP AND WILL NOW PLAY CHELSEA ON TUESDAY 29 SEPTEMBER.
The Round Three tie scheduled for Tuesday 22 September between Leyton Orient and Tottenham Hotspur could not take place following the issue by Waltham Forest Borough Council of an order preventing the match being played as planned. This followed a number of Leyton Orient players testing positive for COVID-19.
The EFL Board has determined that in line with Carabao Cup Rule 5.1, the Club was unable to fulfil its obligations to complete the fixture by virtue of the Council’s order and shall therefore forfeit the tie.
Any comment Tuffers or are Orient now not telling the truth?

1. LOFC closed the ground on Monday for a "deep Clean "
am & Contacted Public Health as reported in the press.
2. Public Health did not respond to LOFC until
3pm tuesday & with a Notice the ground was Closed from
3pm to 10.am wednesday morning as stated by NIgel Travis on the Q& A
3 . He also stated that the Referee & THFC & Sky knew the game had been
