The Hotspots and the other PL clubs treat this Cup with no respect.
They should stand aside and let us progress.

In fairness after seeing some of the hidings dished out
By premier league clubs to lower league tonight,
I'm kind of glad we wont be getting a tonking
Newcastle 7-0 v Morecambe & Barnsley hammered 6-0 .

Why should Spurs and Chelsea have to rearrange their season?

Load of bollocks.
Hope we put out the Under 12s in the first round next season and don't turn up to the trophy games.

With this attitude I can see a lot of FA Cup games being forfeited when the big clubs enter in the middle of winter.BiggsyMalone wrote: ↑Thu Sep 24, 2020 7:31 am Why should Spurs and Chelsea have to rearrange their season?

Like it or not, Premier League clubs are more important and bring a lot of money to this country. Orient were only getting that tv money because they were playing a Premier League club.

Re: O's give up on playing Spurs... Allegedly.
Correct me if I am wrong here, almost all the 1st team squad/staff are all in quarantine/self isolating for 2 weeks, so we cant play the game next week even if we wanted to, so it's simple we have to forfeit the game.

Travis said we had a team that we could have put out on tuesday, the whole entire squad/staff is just paper talk.

Re: O's give up on playing Spurs... Allegedly.
There were 17 or 18 positive tests (depending on who you believe), though you'll note that the club themselves have been silent about the precise number. I love Nige too, but he's just saying stuff here because he wanted the match to be re-scheduled. You can see from the outcome that the authorities (who have sight of the actual evidence) aren't buying it.

I believe Travis far more than the papers, he's been the most transparent chairman we've ever had.OyinbO wrote: ↑Thu Sep 24, 2020 9:40 amThere were 17 or 18 positive tests (depending on who you believe), though you'll note that the club themselves have been silent about the precise number. If we had a team to go, as is being claimed, we shouldn’t forfeit.
Be interesting to see how this pans out. I wonder if we were offered £150k to forfeit, or to play the game in another day without Sky’s cameras and money, which one we’d go for.

How many did travis say had tested positive?Adz wrote: ↑Thu Sep 24, 2020 9:53 amI believe Travis far more than the papers, he's been the most transparent chairman we've ever had.OyinbO wrote: ↑Thu Sep 24, 2020 9:40 amThere were 17 or 18 positive tests (depending on who you believe), though you'll note that the club themselves have been silent about the precise number. Re: O's give up on playing Spurs... Allegedly.
The point I was making is:
The league game, if called off, which it will be, wont be forfeited as it can be re-scheduled without any problem for a later date, whereas apparently the Cup game is more of a problem due to the congested schedule and the 4th round being on Tuesday, followed by the 5th round the following Tuesday.
The question is, if we are asked to play the game on Tues (regardless of being Live on Sky), will we agree to play Spurs with O's youth team, as apparently almost the entire squad/staff are self isolating now?

Re: O's give up on playing Spurs... Allegedly.
Orient did not have either a team to play, nor a ground to play ay on the date fixed for the match (ie Tuesday). The fact Orient could put out a team and host the game on Thursday is irrelevant as the match date was Tuesday. Rule 5 therefore comes into play. It may be hard, but the rule applies to all sides in that situation and as such Orient haven't got a leg to stand on.
Its gutting the club lose out on the big pay day, but that's life

He wouldn't say as they were still waiting for some test result. Widely rumoured at 18 positives have been told but can't verify that 10 players were positive as were 8 staff.RedO wrote: ↑Thu Sep 24, 2020 10:02 amHow many did travis say had tested positive?Adz wrote: ↑Thu Sep 24, 2020 9:53 amI believe Travis far more than the papers, he's been the most transparent chairman we've ever had.OyinbO wrote: ↑Thu Sep 24, 2020 9:40 am

Lots of figures doing the rounds. Think the Evening Standard was reporting 17 people.Top of the JES wrote: ↑Thu Sep 24, 2020 10:32 amHe wouldn't say as they were still waiting for some test result. Can speculate as to number of figures and as to why club haven't given a figure, but none of it changes anything and

Nigel has clearly stated we had a team ready to play. Please stop making stuff up to try and run down my football club.

I am not disagreeing that they had a team and possibly a venue to play on Thursday night. That is irrelevant.
They could not host the match on the date it was fixed for ( irrespective of the alleged availability of a team). No ground tends to be a problem.
Orient could not fulfill the fixture on Tuesday night owing to the positive Covid tests. Therefore Rule 5 applies.
Its not running down the club. I am not blaming anyone or criticising anyone. The simple fact is that Orient could not fulfill the fixture and therefore Rule 5 applies.
Its not about blame or running anyone down. Its about the rules of the competition. Orient could not comply with the rules like a number of sides in the FA Cup this season who have also forfeited ties in that competition

Re: O's give up on playing Spurs... Allegedly.
We'd play another day, I reckon, particularly with another payday with Chelsea in prospect and Spurs increasingly compressed fixture schedule.
Isn't most of that £150k not a loss per se, it's bonus income that we haven't (yet) received?
