Tbf I think he answered what he could without possibly prejudicing at the time ongoing conversations.
For our part I really couldn't see we had a leg to stand on once a local authority (LBWF) closed the stadium, as per EFL rules it meant a bye to the opposition. Hard, but they are the rules we as a member club agreed to abide by. Admittedly they probably need reviewing and amending, but clubs need to act in unison and submit their request for this to take place.
