I would have been single digits. All I can remember is singing ‘We all agree, Brooksy is better than Hoddle’ before kick off and the cars tooting like crazy on the journey home.

Have vague memories of the game, but will never forget the bragging rights at school the next day.

cracking night, I was 15 I think.
This was in the days before Prem clubs threw their reserves in, and played full-strength sides. So it was O's v Ardiles/Hoddle/Allen etc etc.
Some of my (Spurs supporting) family were there and were sat in the East- they were pretty quiet afterwards.

I think the second leg was delayed for about 4/5 weeks, due to the Broadwater Farm riots/murder, and we lost impetus a bit I think, though gave a fair account of ourselves albeit it was 0-4, but for me, at that age, it didn't detract from the joy of turning them over in the first leg.

I was at white Hart Lane for the 2nd leg , we had a cert penalty refused before they scored the opener , Ardillis committing a blatant foul , it could have been oh so different 🤔🤔

Yeah, too right actually Ron - we did: I had totally forgotten that. Had we gone 3-0 up, then different gravy

I remember the second leg more clearly. Graham Roberts scored from outside the box right on the stroke of half time to get them back in it, if memory serves.

Correct, am I right in thinking that Kevin Godfrey got the goals at home?

Yep, that's right.

Can't find any footage on youtube of either game, gutted.

Had the immense pride and privilege to meet Laurie Cunningham going down the exit steps from the West Stand after the game. He had gone to the match as an ordinary fan and looked dead chuffed as he made his way home

Happy days
