Apart from North Korea ( Ha ha ha) what other countries have claimed not to have any cases at all?

There will be no end to this pointless tinkering until a vaccine is freely available. For now, watch our economy regress by decades - and prepare for civil unrest.

Re: Coronavirus
I wouldn't say it's pointless, however it will always be arguable to what degree there should restrictions and at what point these become more harmful than the virus itself. There's just no scientific consensus on this yet, although I do feel that Whitty and Vallance are driven by best intentions. Unfortunately they are advising a Government that is not any good at governing.
It was pretty obvious (although we probably were not ready to accept it) that this virus was going to have an impact beyond the initial period of lockdown and beyond. We heard the language in those press briefings gradually evolving to manage our expectations. The same is happening now.
Boris has said that the current restrictions will be in pace for about 6 months. About 6 months. And, even if things are better then, that doesn't mean we'll instantly snap back to how things were in February 2020. We'll probably still see some restrictions in place, and it likely our way out of this will be a series of rolling on/off restrictions.
From what I can gather, the end will only come through one of three outcomes:
1. Herd immunity through either vaccination and/or community spread
2. Very fast and accurate testing (i.e. you want to come in this pub? Okay, let me take a quick swab)
3. The virus eventually just evolves and fizzles out in the same way that SARS1 did

Re: Coronavirus
Back in March there were scientists saying that it would be 18 months minimum. Most pandemics last between 3 and 6 years.

Also, any word on what the chocolate teapot, otherwise known as Gavin Williamson, is doing to prepare for the possibility/probability of exam disruption next year?

Why is anyone surprised with this hike? The way so many idiots behaved over summer pretending there were no issues made this inevitable.
