Think the delay in calling it off (and it should be called off) is the EFL condition that a forfeit would be in place if a club can't fulfill a fixture. We have told them we can play the game and fulfill the fixture by fielding a youth team.

I guess if PHE and PHLBWF declare the ground safe then there is no reason for forfeit and it would have to be played or rearranged.

Whatever the outcome it's ridiculous that we are here just over 5 hours before the scheduled kick off and nobody really knows whats happening.

E.F.L can want it called off but technically ,
the efl guidelines will be tested ,
Plenty of other prem v efl clubs ties will go ahead
As has been claimed in the media article on the other thread .
1 EFL club refused to have tests done & other prem teams happy
to play without testing being done . .

Legally this will be a nightmare for the EFL .

Agreed and it works both ways. Why would a Spurs player want to play and put himself and his wider family at risk. It would be a dangerous precedent to forefeit the game.

Can see us playing the game but the cameras won’t be there because they’ve run out of time!

At least we’ll get money from the Chelsea tie.

Travis would allege Orient can field a team, but the youth players won't yet be registered to play in this competition yet and as such sre ineligible to play

That's however irrelevant as there is no ground for Orient to play at so Orient should forfeit the game as per rule 5

When was the registration deadline for tonight? Isn't it usually midday on the day for a weekday fixture and the Friday before for a weekend?

The youth team players are already registered to play in any EFL or FA competitions through the affilated forms they sign with the football club at the start of the season. You are confussing it with new signings.

I was asking as several people are saying they are not registered. So looks like they are registered then.

When they sign forms with the club they are registered with the EFL and it allows them to play in EFL and FA Sanctioned competitions, this is how it has always worked, We could select any of our youngsters for EFL League or Cup competitions as they don't have be be on a full pro contract to play just affiliated to the club on academy forms is OK. See 6.2 of the EFL Cup rules below.

6 Players

6.1 In all rounds of the Competition a player shall be a “registered player” of his Club, as defined in Rule 6.2 below.

6.2 A registered player is one who would be registered and eligible to participate in a Premier League match and/or League Match (as defined in The League Regulations) commencing at the same time and on the same date as the Competition match in accordance with The Premier League Regulations and/or The League Regulations, or would have been but for the operation of Premier League Rule U.1.1 or League Regulation 43.9 (as amended from time to time).

6.3 Players registered on a temporary basis will not be eligible to play unless the Club holding his full registration gives its written consent (also subject to any restrictions on the number of loan players prescribed by applicable Premier League Rules or League Regulations).

It is understood Aston Villa (v Bristol City), Fulham (v Sheffield Wednesday), Burnley (v Millwall), Newcastle (v Morecambe) and Manchester United (v Luton) were happy to follow EFL protocols and will not test their opposition. Brentford turned down West Brom's offer to have their squad tested.

Questions need yo be asked .
How can a competition kick a team out because they
Take a test at the request of another team .

Yet other clubs seem to think there is no need for testing

And when one of those prem teams come down with it, delaying the season...then what? It will all come back to these fixtures. Its a joke but unfortunately no one will care until the £££ in the prem is affected.
