Danny Rowe
Didn’t realise he’s scored 161 goals in 103 games, that’s according to soccer base.
Anyway, I was told tonight he’s signing for Colchester.
That is all.

Re: Danny Rowe
In that case we had better be more prepared when Colchester get a free kick against us .

Re: Danny Rowe
Is his career strike rate from free kicks that good or are you basing it on one free kick against us in the 3 games this season?RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Fri May 24, 2019 12:10 am In that case we had better be more prepared when Colchester get a free kick against us .

Re: Danny Rowe
Danny Rowe going to Colchester ?
If true, surprised at that, I would have thought if he is going anywhere, it would have been a Northern Club, somewhere near to where he lives at present.

Re: Danny Rowe
Yes, Rowe scores goals and some are spectacular but he does not contribute to the overall team effort. Even his manager says he disappears some games. Compare that to Macca and you have a big difference. Macca works his nuts off and is a more than useful defender at corners and free kicks.

Re: Danny Rowe
Where has this strange idea that Danny Rowe is unable to move away from his home come from? I’ve seen it a couple of times on here. He’s a fully grown man, I’m sure he can handle working away from his mummy for a while.Sid Bishop wrote: ↑Fri May 24, 2019 8:45 amDanny Rowe going to Colchester ?

Re: Danny Rowe
Seems bizarre that he’d go there. Seems even more bizarre that Col Utd would pay out such a substantial transfer fee.

Re: Danny Rowe
Quite true. But then again, I would rather have a striker that is capable of putting away half chances than someone who 'works their nuts off'.DuvB wrote: ↑Fri May 24, 2019 8:52 am Yes, Rowe scores goals and some are spectacular but he does not contribute to the overall team effort. (but I'm not saying Rowe is that type of striker)

Re: Danny Rowe
But it woudn't be one or the other. They have that Reid who does all the running and graft for him. Just as Macca does that for Koroma. He's our 'luxury' player who can disappear on occassion.DuvB wrote: ↑Fri May 24, 2019 8:52 am Yes, Rowe scores goals and some are spectacular but he does not contribute to the overall team effort. Re: Danny Rowe
Didn't he start out at Ipswhich? Maybe he has a property in the area still which helps out with costs etc? Who knows, but it's from a player at Colchester and I've no reason to disbelieve him.

Re: Danny Rowe
Dont think he started at Ipswich (different Danny Rowe) he was on Manchester United's books as a youngster and has only played for Northern based sides so far Fleetwood, Stockport, Fylde and Lincoln City which is as far South as he has been.
I doubt he would sign for Col U they have a policy of bringing through their own youngsters and not paying fees. There is a Danny Rowe playing for Ipswich last season they might be signing him if he's been released.

Just bashing it on the fact that he can obviously take a good free kick and to keep that in mind .Smendrick Feaselberg wrote: ↑Fri May 24, 2019 8:20 amIs his career strike rate from free kicks that good or are you basing it on one free kick against us in the 3 games this season?RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Fri May 24, 2019 12:10 am In that case we had better be more prepared when Colchester get a free kick against us .

Re: Danny Rowe
Danny Rowe started off as a midfielder and thus does a lot of his work deep. He had an excellent game in that role at Wembley. He is also a player who is so dangerous because he can score from distance , and it’s not only one free kick scored against us in recent games. He literally smashed one straight through the wall at our place last season and followed that up with a screamer from the left side way outside the box.

Re: Danny Rowe
I have just looked up his career stats and it has him listed as playing 4 'other games' - i.e not league but some sort of cup games, during which he is credited with EIGHTEEN GOALS
https://www.soccerbase.com/players/play ... r_id=58100
This cant be correct, can it?

Re: Danny Rowe
Soccerbase doesn't do anything below National League so the stats will never add up.ContrifibulatoryFred wrote: ↑Fri May 24, 2019 12:44 pm I have just looked up his career stats and it has him listed as playing 4 'other games' - i.e not league but some sort of cup games, during which he is credited with EIGHTEEN GOALS
