Imagine being upset by some men bending down on one knee for 2 or seconds.

I don't think anyone should be scapegoated for not taking the knee, in exactly the same way as I don't think anyone should be scapegoated for not wearing a poppy. But if someone wants to take a knee, or wear a poppy, what business is that of anyone else? - who is it hurting? taking the knee takes a second or two, so it's baffling to me how it gets some so worked up.

An organisation insisting that its employees do not take a knee, however, strikes me as that organisation actually making a statement about its view on racism in general and BLM in particular. Can you imagine the furore if a business or sports team banned its employees from wearing a poppy?
Personally I am just not a fan of pointless gestures and fads- be that poppies, taking a knee or clapping the NHS.

The harm is like Les Ferdinand says- people think it is achieving something and little is done about the real problem.

It's like the kind of people who do are nasty, bitter, twisted bigoted racists.

What do you suggest is done about the real problem ?

The gestures are not intrinsically pointless. They raise awareness which is all they seek to do.

Ok, raising awareness does not necessarily fix the problem though does it? Yes people may demand that this that or the other is done, but will anything fundamental change? Like Sir Les said he’s been saying the same thing for years and years, in fact he says he will not speak about it if asked anymore, that’s quite a statement to make,

Sorry Thor. I've got you on block because you have a reputation for posting contradictory drivel.

I am therefore unable to reply to what is probably a brain fart of a post.

Rumbling on as a major discussion point on TalkSport this morning.

Various pundits (is that OK Tuffers?) saying it is out of order to stop whilst some agreeing with Les Ferdinand.

With respect that was the wrong question you asked there Redo/PoliticsO/et al

You first need to establish if Horno wants to eradicate racism. I doubt he does.

I'd love to eradicate real racism.

I'd also love to eradicate the false accusations, double standards and point scoring around racism.

I'm delighted to hear that and look forward to your suggestions on how to achieve this.

Btw what is "real racism"?
