Can't believe all this angst over what amounts to next to nothing over a season.
Spent a fortune over the years watching the O's and still do, success comes at a price.
I could complain its a lot dearer now than my first season ticket watching what is now the championship for £28

Sorry to hear that mate.

You won’t get a response. They’ll just refer you to the message issued at the same time as the price increases were announced, blaming it on all the unused kids season tickets, apparently.

That’s called inflation mate.

Not sure it’s currently running at 600%.

A Big Mac meal. Hardly a rip off. Last seasons low prices were simply a means to increase the core base of the club and it seemed to work. But such deals can’t go on forever. Wages and costs go up and it’s reasonable for the fans to share the load.

Of course I appreciate some fans don’t have the means to find the extra but the club cannot look at the finances of every fan.

Each of us have to make our own choices and that’s fine, in my opinion the prices are very reasonable and if it stops the empty seat saga even better.

Saving a few quid watching non-league. Cutting off your nose to spite your face it seem to me, fo what, a tenner a month.
Agreed. The reaction of some on here is ridiculous. One only has to look at the cost per game and compare that to the price of the cinema or a burger meal (as others have said above) gives the true picture.

If these prices wants to make someone switch to watch non-league, thats their choice but are probably supporters that Orient can do without.

Wise up and stop complaining.

I did the same last season. My local non-league side being Orient.

Orient have done these types of offers before to increase younger support. Maybe they should do what the GAA do which is to refund concessions on the gate. If you turn up with your ticket there is someone on the other side of the turnstile who gives you €5 refund if you prove you are an OAP, student or U18. So if say the U11 Season ticket cost £120 and you got £5 back whenever the child turned up then it only costs £5 for the season. This would also mean that those who get season tickets with little or no intention of using them would be put off.

They never had a £9 season ticket when my son was under 11.

But the cost was reduced from £65 for U11 in 2015/2016 to £9 for U11 last season and will be £59 next season.

Exactly. That's going to ruffle a few feathers. It will still be interesting to know though, what the increase will be.

My brother in law pays about £1250/annum for his Arsenal season ticket (includes 7 cup credits).
Just to be a junior member to have the ability to buy a ticket at Chelsea costs £22/year and at Arsenal £10/year.

Sometimes Arsenal is cheaper than Orient. They charge £10 (£5 concessions) for League Cup games up to and including semi finals. In comparison, Orient charged £13 for FA Trophy semi. Lowest price this season at Chelsea was £20 (£10 concessions).

It's pretty sad that Macklin won't answer Hedmans concerns and just appears to have blanked him. Is that good customer service and or pr? Nope it's not.

Maybe if Macklin had answered him, maybe Hedman would have bought his season tickets again.

The club published this at the time - https://www.leytonorient.com/news/2019/ ... 1920-faqs/

then followed it up with this release, confirming their stance - https://www.leytonorient.com/news/2019/march/u11st/

To be fair to Macklin, he also done that live Q&A twitter thing when this kicked off initially.

I don't agree with the clubs position on this but they've done their bit. You can't expect them to have a phone call with every disgruntled supporter like they did when there was a backlash over the s*n sponsorship.

I have recieved a message from Danny Macklin who has advised that he never received the first email and has asked that it be resent to him as he prides himself on answering his emails within 24 hours.

Hedman please resend your message and ignore my previous one as I only saw the inbox message after I posted. Hopefully Hedman you can get your issues and concerns resolved. Good luck.

Fair play to Danny for reaching out as well, it shows he cares.

Anyone priced taking a family to a day out at the wax works or London zoo. That puts the cost of our season tickets in perspective.
Excellent value regardless of what the increases are.

What the hell has London Zoo got to do with anything?

But seeing as you've gone there - an annual ticket for the zoo for 1 adult and up to 5 children costs £207.50 for the year https://www.zsl.org/membership/new-membership

You can't get a Madame Tussauds annual pass, but they do a Merlin annual pass which includes MTs and a whole host of other fun places, for £417 for 3 people https://www.merlinannualpass.co.uk/comp ... new-passes

The cheapest we offer - in the north - for 1 adult and 1 child is £214 plus £59, a total of £273. If you were a complete loon and took 5 kids along, that would cost you £509 (plus your sanity).

Remember that these other places are open all year round, so if you make an annual commitment you can get great value. And you're guaranteed, well almost, to have an enjoyable day out. That's not always the case at Orient.

Why would anyone want to go to the zoo or wax works on a regular basis, seeing the same animals and dummies when you can come to the orient and see different animals and dummies.

Everyone talks about signing new players, where is the money going to come from?
Also got staff to pay or shouldn't they get a raise so we can keep paying the same every year.

There were far to many people buying a Season Ticket, and as a afterthought buying a £9 kids ticket who never turns up.
I missed several games last season after hearing the game was sold out only to see loads of empty seats when watching the goals later.

Several? Really? Should have bought a season ticket, then.

Generally staggered at how short sighted our fanbase, and ownership, is on this subject.

How many games were sold out? And how close to kick off? Hartlepool as it was £5, ditto Bromley, though also because a lot of the East Stand couldn’t be used. Other than that only Wrexham and Braintree come to mind. Possible others were, but I always remember pay on the gate being available. In addition to my season tickets, I got extra tickets for all of those games so it must have been only a week or so before they sold out.

I don’t doubt there are ghost kids (or rarely appearing kids) in the North Stand as it was the only way adults could stay there with the club’s policy of having at least one U18 in the group. This only became a problem when there were empty seats that could potentially have been sold and that hadn’t happened for three or four seasons. I used to get that many complimentary tickets, I never needed a season ticket until this season.

I have to confess that there were a few tickets of mine that weren’t used like Maidenhead when I was in Nottingham and also two extra tickets I got for Braintree and Wrexham. If every season ticket holder missed 10% of the games like I did, it would be a lot of empty seats.
