Re: Amazon
Did they say why
Lots of deals these day take account details and then if you don’t cancel, take your money. Don’t like that sort of thing.

Re: Amazon
Well how did they get your bank details then?
They can't just take money out of you account and they can't just use the data they have to take money out of people's accounts at random.
You've probably not read the small print on something that says you need to opt out of paying after a certain date happens to most of us.

Re: Amazon
Mrs Cheshunto uses them a lot and is a Prime member meaning we get free postage and access to the Amazon TV Channel, in return for a payment of about £70 per year.
They tried a similar thing by asking me to become a member on ‘trial’ for 30 days. This is ok but you must cancel it or they’ll take £7.99 out of your account.
The Spurs documentary on Amazon TV is well worth watching.

Re: Amazon
We are prime members as well as my missues is always buying stuff off them.
A friend of mine told me how he gets it free month after month. Now I’m not advocating you do this, but this is what he does. He joins as a member for the 30 day trial and duly cancels within the 30 days. He then joins again with a different email address and gets the same trial and keeps on repeating. I kid you not.

Re: Amazon
IMO the way their buying process is set up one has to opt out of Prime otherwise if u r not a member they will sign u up for 30 day trial and if u don’t cancel that u r charged for a year and it’ll self renew unless cancelled

Re: Amazon
It's really easy to signup by mistake.
I bought something and among the delivery options, it said free Prime offer, so I clicked to see what the offer was, and that was all they needed - I was signed up on a trial!

Re: Amazon
It's classic web design trickery, each time you order they shuffle the buttons slightly and put the default to Prime delivery. Also they put the Prime signup button where skip \ cancel would be so your muscle memory goes to the "wrong" place naturally. Have to be alert every time you order to get the free delivery and avoid Prime.

Re: Amazon
My daughter is a Prime customer. A frequent user it’s cost effective, especially as she gets Prime TV bundled in to the deal, which is good. We can also share Prime TV. When we want to order from Amazon my daughter orders it from her account.
Personally I think it’s decent value for money. Goods are competitively priced and arrive quickly. And convenient. Though I still prefer using local shops where possible.
