Crowd sounds on Match Stream?
A question for anyone who watched the stream, "Were there any crowd sounds such as we hear on the current Sky/BBC/BT TV streams?"

Re: Crowd sounds on Match Stream?
Talking about crowds , I'm currently watching a ligue 1 game from France . They have a well spread out crowd in attendance. It's irritating that we can't do the same in this country.

I prefer it to silence tbh. That said for home games it'll be no different to usual being able to hear a pin drop

I prefer the artificial crowd noise. It makes for more of an atmosphere

I agree . Watching the Oldham V Orient highlights sounded like it was a training game over at Hackney Marshes.ComeOnYouOs wrote: ↑Sun Sep 13, 2020 1:50 pm I prefer the artificial crowd noise. It makes for more of an atmosphere

Re: Crowd sounds on Match Stream?
I find the fake crowd noise akin to the uncanny valley in robotics, it's trying to be real but in being not quite right it becomes unnerving. Because I know that the noise is being generated by a human sat at a mixing desk, it just feels wrong - particularly when it diverts from what would really happen (there's no booing the home team when they're playing badly, nor the gradual quietening as people slope off when losing 0-2 with 10 mins to go, nor abuse shouted at the ref after a contentious decision etc.).
Give me the real ground noise every time.

Would be good to hear recorded sounds from the South Stand. I miss the quality fair-minded and intelligent comments which come from there.

Re: Crowd sounds on Match Stream?
Please no fake crowd noise, the noise on Sky and BT is dire. My only problem with Dulcet's phone pinging is I keep thinking it's my phone. The solution really is for DD to concentrate on commentating on the play. The texts and tweets could go and not be missed IMO

Re: Crowd sounds on Match Stream?
Obviously real crowd noise from a real crowd is best.
That said, if we have to have no crowd in the ground, then I do think all sports coverage benefits from the "fake" noise, otherwise you're just listening to the players shouting at each other in a big echo-ey stadium, and that's awful for me. I think the only reason the "fake" noise is annoying is that we know it's "fake".
I quite like the fake noise put on the Test matches - that sort of murmmering you get in a cricket ground that gets a bit louder during the day as the pints go down.

Re: Crowd sounds on Match Stream?
I wonder if Sky will be dubbing (or whatever they do) crowd sounds for the match vs Spurs on Tuesday.

They've probably only got Champions League noises, which will be odd.

Can we not have individual things for players.
Benny Hill music for Ruel maybe or
Chopin's Piano Sonata No. 2 in B-flat minor for Myles Judd ,
Nessum Dorma for DJ

Re: Crowd sounds on Match Stream?
Stream needs some crowd noise, in fact I found it boring watching us play in silence. Even once there was commentary that only improved it slightly.
Have to say that I'm not used to watching Orient via a stream and found it hard work.

Yeah it wasn’t a particularly enjoyable experience. Made me feel like I was there.
