Would be great to see the Conservatives achieving another milestone. The first PM of Asian heritage and only the second ethnic minority PM (the first was Conservative too). Not to mention the first two female PMs
Yeah, they have a lot to be proud of at the moment.
A British Asian male becoming PM would be something to be proud of, yes.

Credit to the Conservatives for breaking another glass ceiling should it happen. They've already achieved something similar by appointing three British Asians to the great offices of state and counting. Something never done before

Oh I know, all good stuff. If only they could organise a piss up in a brewery they'd be almost mediocre.

Electing an Asian PM might be about the only thing that would make most Tory voters move to Labour.

Well, stereotyping them as racist certainly won't.

Heh at DCC reeling them in.

For what it's worth, I'd put money on Priti getting the top job before Sunik. But I'd also put money on Gove getting ahead of both of them.

All very intriguing. Anyone want to speculate? Stepping down to spend time with his families, perhaps?
Back to this briefly - why can't I find this reported anywhere?

Don't get too excited, BBC News story refers to the meeting in passing thus: "Boris Johnson will host a virtual meeting with MPs later on Friday to discuss the controversial bill. The PM's official spokesman said Mr Johnson would reiterate his commitment to working on the implementation of the withdrawal agreement with the EU. But he will also say, if that work fails, "as a responsible government, we must provide a safety net that removes any ambiguity"."

Feels more like trying to nip a rebellion in the bud.

So for Johnson's Brexit negotiators this is just a game?

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/20 ... rade-talks

Do they not realise that they have just signaled to the world that 'binding contracts' with the British government aren't worth the paper they are written on?

Next week will show whether there are any Tory MPs who understand their duty to the country and are willing to place this above their personal benefit from a cushy, well paid job.

It was all about bamboozling them, playing on notions of the EU as the danger. Of course he did not remind them that the withdrawal agreement he is now trying to attack is exactly the one he previously presented to parliament as the one they must vote for.
