Who has wangled a way in to games?

Post by Ronnie Hotdogs »

I’ve seen that some of the podcast guys have secured a press pass

Are any other superfans being granted match day access?

I saw the balconies were heaving last night but don’t recall seeing people sitting in the stands?

I didn’t notice any ladders perched precariously around the edge of the ground, for example. Are all the ‘groundsmen’ allowed to hang around?

That's harsh. I'd say the ladder idea was genius, although accept there's often a thin line.

He's been doing this for long enough to be expert at not being seen. Trust me, if you ever do see him, it's deliberate.

There is a rumour going round that the club superstore will soon be stocking Leyton Orient Ladders complete with the club crest on each rung. For a supplement they will come complete with a pair of Leyton Orient Binoculars ;)

Unless you’re ‘in’ with the right people at the club when this will not be required.

Are all the superfans that do the radio show also being treated as ‘press’?

Not exactly - did get lots of complimentary tickets for Orient, Wembley and Arsenal, and at old Highbury used to get in for lat 20 minutes when they opened the gates for people to leave. Used to do it a lot for gigs in my teens when I knew someone on the door.

No idea mate, how many are there left?

The only one I know is AW on here and he's not active any more (at least he wasn't but should sort that out right away).

Unpaid as well. No wonder Macklin is so happy to defend the arrangement.

Outlook were there last night. But I got PMs from them a while ago that they were completely independent and any talk of them putting out independent content, rather than sucking up to the club to keep access, was unfounded. So I can only assume this doesn't affect their independence, nor does it affect the fact they were team #BTeamBoycott a while back. I believe them.

Hi Redo
Just so you know, we have always had a press pass and have been using them for several seasons now. Other podcasts have and had access the same as us too.

I attended and sat in the media gantry live tweeting the game and joining in with Dave and Matt on commentary.

It wasn't Outlook, it was just me in the media gantry live tweeting and commentating.

We're still independent. We still have a good relationship with the club. And yes, the two are wholly possible.

Were any other fans there? Orientear? Panda? Cabbies with rakes etc?

Just wondering if there’s anyway of gaining access in the current climate....

No there weren't any fans or fanzines there and I didn't see anyone with a rake or a ladder.

No there isn't. As far as I know the other media outlets are also being given the opportunity to attend to gather content for their shows. So no favouritism from the club to Outlook.
