Re: Nurse offered bible to Cancer patient.
Happy to confirm Ornchurchs post not considered Islamophobic. Not very funny definitely and a bit needless but if I made unfunny / needless a banning offence......
Likewise happy for you to explain to me exactly how it is islamophobic though.

Just curious to see where you're getting your bizarre definition from.

I explained how it is on a previous response. It’s blatantly a “one rule for them, different rule for us” remark which is intentionally divisive.
As mentioned, you don’t have to be throwing slurs around to be expressing bigotry.
Ultimately it’s your message board and you can permit what you want.
Would you be so comfortable if I made a similar comment about the Jewish community?

Really bizarre to be considered some sort of villain on a Leyton Orient message board for sticking up for Orient and fans of the club against the endless negativity of a neutral.

My bad, didn't realise you had the final say on whether anything is or isn't islamophobic. We'll know for next time.

As I said, it’s your board so you can allow what you want.
However, I’d opine that it’s bad form for a message board for a club based in an area which has a reasonable Muslim community to turn a blind eye to causal Islamophobia.
What’s even more questionable is that the same message board took a really hard stance against somebody (me) who decided to stick up for Leyton Orient and supporters of the club against a persistently negative neutral. My condemnation of the boarder in question, based entirely on his consistently negative opinion of Leyton Orient and fans of the club, was met with far harsher actions from the admins of this board than a casually Islamophobic comment which I also raised a complaint about.
I haven’t even bothered to look in great detail at the “Muslims v LGBT” thread which is thriving on this message board, but it’s clear that a rather unpleasant narrative is being allowed to blossom on this forum.
Meanwhile, calling somebody out for being prolifically negative about Leyton Orient allows you to be accused of being a “stalker”. Somebody needs to take a long hard think about what kind of Leyton Orient message board this is going to be.

Don't remember ever hearing of anyone being sacked for spouting Islamic stuff, yet seems to happen to Christians fairly often. So does the guy have a point or is there another explanation?

I’ve never heard of anyone getting sacked for promoting Sikhism either.
Or Judaism.
So what’s your point?
Ever wondered why Islam is the go to example for people like you?
The original topic has absolutely nothing to do with Islam and yet here you are supporting the “but Muslims get away with it” narrative. But let me guess, that’s not remotely Islamophobic.

Re: Nurse offered bible to Cancer patient.
Pointing out islamophobia on a message board is “stirring ng the pot”? Very odd.
Rather amusingly you have just proven my point wonderfully. You are correct, lots of people from lots of religions get away with stuff, so why is it that there are certain boarders whose immediate reaction to a news story about a Christian getting in trouble is to whine about how Muslims can get away with what they want. I wonder why Islam was the go to example for them rather than any other religion?

Re: Nurse offered bible to Cancer patient.
Whilst Esteban may have a point about what people have written, doesn’t this thread just illustrate what goes on in the wider world? Why can’t we all just get along nicely with each other? The world would be an infinitely better place to be if we did. Respect each other’s religions and let people believe what they want to believe, it’s not hard is it?

Anyway, should people not be allowed to be 'Islamophobic'?

No one is turning a blind eye to casual islamophobia - all that's happening here is your definition of Islamaphobia doesn't match mine (nor does it seem anyone else's so far). I'm also not sure how a short PM to you asking you not to post a users public details again as it's against the forum rules constitutes a really hard stance? You're behaviour towards Spen666 does appear obsessive and I suspect you're now clutching a very tiny and slightly ridiculous straw to deflect against the criticism you've received from others.

Re: Nurse offered bible to Cancer patient.
Not really sure why Esteban's willing to die on a hill for a really bad take, but that's his look out. FWIW I don't think that post is islamophobic.
Whilst he claims not to have been on the old board, if that's true, hopefully others will verify that FTC, myself and the other one, dished out a fair few bannings for inappropriate posts, whether they were considered islamophobic, homophobic etc. Plenty of Boarders would say it was too many. People often throw in thinly veiled bigotry and hide behind the 'its just bantz' defence, which personally I have no time for, be it on here, Twitter or IRL. That being said, it IS still possible to use satire and humour to discuss controversial topics and thorny issues. In this post's case, while not speaking for ornhurch, I believe the post is satire. As demonstrated - and discussed elsewhere on the thread - some on the left are less quick to criticise other religions or cultures for fear of being called racist and thus tie themselves up in knots. Hence, if she'd used the Koran, there may have been less outrage from some quarters on the left (obviously not from Mail readers, who would have combusted) than for this case and the 'easy' target of Christianity. Again, for the record, I think all religions are pretty absurd and all worthy of equal criticism, Christianity - and of course individual Christians - regularly claim they're being unfairly picked on, which is BS.
Islamophobia is a hatred or fear of Islam. This post doesn't display that, imho. Ones that do, will be subject to the wrath of the Admin Dictatorship.

I slightly resent the false suggestion that I went out of my way to expose personal information on this message board. I simply pointed out to a boarder that they may have inadvertently exposed their identity on the thread in question.
