Re: New signing
Explains why Judd has been bombed out the last two games.
Ling will obviously be the cover for this kid, no idea where it leaves Myles. He shouldn’t have renewed last season.

Re: New signing
I'm predicting that Ling will leave on loan to a National League side. There's no way we've just renewed Judd only to let him spend the whole season on loan or in the stands. Ling is injury prone, crap and unpopular with the fans. Its clear to any objective observer that Ling is completely out of his depth. Maybe the penny has finally dropped with Embleton & Ling, even if not in a footballing sense then at least in a realisation that the punters are going to continue to slag him off.

Re: New signing
Can't believe Ling has signed a player for his sons position? Almost as if he isn't as biased as some numpties on here would have us believe.

Re: New signing
More likely that Ling Snr has been so embarrassed by his sons displays that he no alternative than sign this promising youngster on loan.I expect that his son will now be sent out on loan for the whole of the season as Judd will be the only one to act as cover.Prestige Worldwide wrote: ↑Wed Sep 02, 2020 6:37 pm Can't believe Ling has signed a player for his sons position? Re: New signing
Reminds me of 08/09 (ish) when we signed Andrew Cave-Brown and other back up players. The first team remained the same.

Re: New signing
Excellent news . Jordon Thomas then to be our first choice RB this season. I'd have Turley and Happe as our first choice CB's and Widdowson LB. IMO, Brophy is more effective on the wing than defence.

Re: New signing
Ling Snr is an experienced pro and even he will realise just how poor Junior really is. Judd is not liked or rated as well.Prestige Worldwide wrote: ↑Wed Sep 02, 2020 6:37 pm Can't believe Ling has signed a player for his sons position? Can’t keep looking the other way. His credibility will suffer, his hand has been forced. He cannot support Ross with poor players. Little choice. Just a CB now.

Re: New signing
I suspect the full backs will be Thomas and Brophy. Both seem attack minded and seem to fit the way Ross wants us to play.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 02, 2020 7:20 pm Excellent news . Re: New signing
Be interesting if we do play with Thomas and Brophy as full/wing backs. It makes sense as Judd/Ling aren't particularly attacking and don't fit the 'style'. I worry how open we'll be though. IMO if you are playing 4-3-3 with attacking full backs your CBs and holding midfielder need to be mobile and have a bit of pace to cover the counter (see Gomez and VVD at Liverpool) but we haven't. Very interested to see Ross' tactics from Saturday.

"I’m a modern-day right back. I like to get forward."
What? The moaners on here helped hound out Jake Caprice for doing exactly that. Get ready for the usual suspects to start lamenting the demotion of Sam Ling and Myles Judd come November...

We're not playing with wingers.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 02, 2020 7:20 pm Excellent news . Jordon Thomas then to be our first choice RB this season. I'd have Turley and Happe as our first choice CB's and Widdowson LB. IMO, Brophy is more effective on the wing than defence.
Brophy is our new first choice left back. Widdowson is one of the four CBs.
