Re: Team for 2020/21
It's more than likely that we will be seeing a ever ending change in formations on a regular basis. With the resting of players becoming a normal occurrence and the pick 'n' mix type of player we like to select this could lead to a problem in finding a continuity in style of play and performance.
Before the season starts i would like to see two loan signings. One being a centre back and the other a target man type centre forward. This would then create balance and help our other players to play to thier strengths and provide problems for our opponents.
Not excited about this season for numerous reasons but at the end of this and the begining of next, things could be very interesting.

Highly doubt it. The personnel will be shuffled almost every game, but he’ll stick with 4-3-3.AckneyAwks wrote: ↑Thu Aug 27, 2020 8:04 pm It's more than likely that we will be seeing a ever ending change in formations on a regular basis.

Not, when it's not working. If we start the season with what we have now then we dont have the players to play a back four. Centre half and one if not two full backs short. Could probably get away with a wing back system.

Interesting to be reading over this thread now.
It's clear that none of us could agree on starting xi as things stand.

Agree with the team except Angol will start in the centre in place of JMD and Johnson just off him on the leftTent Keague wrote: ↑Wed Sep 02, 2020 11:04 pm This what we going with?

Would be surprised if Thomas did not start straight away at FGR. Brought in because they consider him better than Judd and Ling. This cup game along with the training sessions this week and next should have him ready for the league (important) match at Oldham.

Interesting to see who's not in squad
25 players available. Assuming the 3 younger ones will not be included, Kyprianou, Shabani and Sweeney. Dennis is injured again. That leaves 3. I would say Judd is another as not featured recently. Of course we don't know who's carrying knocks but any thoughts on the other 2

It’ll be the team and squad that featured versus Gillingham but with Thomas on the bench instead of Shad. I expect Angol and Thomas to both get bit of a run out from the bench, maybe Dayton too if we’re drawing or losing or Clay in the unlikely event we’re winning.
Which from the core first team squad means no place for Ruel, Dennis and Shad.
Judd too, obviously, but goes without saying.
