Notice the media are spinning story as he has been "withdrawn" from squad by Gareth Southgate.

Interesting spin & pretty sure wouldn't be term used if he had played for Leicester still

When you really think about it that sentence is disgraceful. Joe bloggs would be looking at 2-3 years minimum. When the new police headquarters in Greece gets built we will know who payed for it.

They said his sister had been stabbed, which to me is a pretty violent act. Now it’s she was jabbed with a needle. Whilst that’s bad as well the fact the story is changing. Leads me to be suspicious of the narrative being peddled.

Quick verdict, wasn't it? Anyone would think that the Greek judicial system was spotting an opportunity to wring a few quid out of someone (and their employer) daft enough to ask "don't you know who I am?"

Bit surprised how many people are placing confidence in the Greek judicial system (and Greek plod), when they readily challenge far more credible institutions closer to home. I suppose it ranks more favourably in their minds than a Premiership footballer*.

What’s surprising is the fact of the whole matter wrapped up and a guilty verdict in about 72 hours! He maybe been innocent, he maybe be guilty, but as a non lawyer person surely he has to have sight of the prosecution evidence etc and a defence filed instead of it being almost fate acomply?

Then again, some Premiershite footballer acting like a complete kent isn't much of a surprise is it? A damn sight more likely than all the blame laying with the Greek judicial system and/or police.

I'm also interested to know what are these "far more creditable institutions closer to home". That would be enlightening for us all I'm sure. Do tell.

What's a fate accomply when it's at home?

Maybe the evidence was pretty damning and it was obvious he was guilty?

If there’s truth in his sister being stabbed/ needle thing, then I can well understand him wading in.

Don’t get how he’s allowed to leave the country just ahead of his trial though, seems a strange situation to me.

As a general point, one can form admittedly distanced views of footballers in terms of them as people, but it tends to be comparative against other footballers, based on how they behave on the pitch and the odd interview, media story (which is often taken with a pinch of salt) etc. I’ve had a reasonable impression of Maguire up until now, but people on that kind of silly money in the number one sport and under the media spotlight, all at a relatively young age, it has to change them, and as people often not for the better – and frequently I end up concluding I wouldn’t like them if I knew them for real, but it kind of goes with the territory they live in sadly when they become the big ‘I am’s’.

a big thing about it on TV this morning.
more to this than meets the eye the only doubt
I have is if his sister was stabbed with a date rape
drug or anything else her eyes apparently rolling in her head
the first thing most people would do is phone for an ambulance.

Why is it more likely that a “Premiershite” (lmao that’s soo funny) footballer would act like a fanny than anyone else 🙄

Pity he doesn't use Marcus Rashford as a role model. Seems not all Premier League players are twats.
