When I'm asked if uninspired team talks or random players in random positions is my forte I say that I dont think that they have to be mutually exclusive.

Well...you throw a striker on the wing and...

Not the formation, why you are doing this when you are supposed to be managing a professional football club.

That's not true.
5 years of non league management 20 years ago barely counts
Doesn’t it? You said virtually no experience. 5 years is substantial.

If you want to compare a man with 5 years managerial experience who then went on to be assistant manager of a world cup winning team with Boss Embleton, crack on.
He hadn't managed a team in 15 years and never at even a remotely comparable level to Bayern. Would you have been happy with an appointment like that at Orient? My point is that it's pretty much impossible to know who will be a successful manager or not. Time will tell whether Ross will be or not, but he will have my support until such time as I think he is detrimental to the club. In my lifetime Frank Clark was probably the best manager we've had, and I remember the Clark out chants for about half a season until he was able to turn it around. It takes time to build a team and get them playing your style of football, but this seems to have been forgotten in recent years by many.

Would I be happy with a bloke who won the league 4 times and champions league as a player. Who went on to manage at a low level before being assistant manager during a world cup win? Yes.

How does a man who did terribly and then say he doesn’t want to do it anymore, go on to get the job full time?

Sorry I should have rephrased the question, obviously he'd be fine for orient, the Orient equivalent to that appointment would be someone who managed in the isthmian league for 5 years 15 years ago and had been assistant at a league one team for the last couple of years. Dunno about you, but that wouldn't impress me and I can't imagine many bayern fans were thinking this is the guy who's gonna turn our season around.

Dunno how they came to the decision to give RE the job, he wouldn't have been my choice, but a couple of very successful businessmen in Travis and Teague trust him so I'm happy to give him the benefit of the doubt. Not sure what your expectations are for the season but will be happy if we can finish mid table and then build on that next season.

He was Kovac’s assistant and took the job on a caretaker basis. He was then rewarded with it on a fulltime basis after he turned their season around and got them playing great football. As someone who goes to watch Bayern Munich and is friends with Bayern fans, I know exactly how they felt about it.

They trust Martin Ling. I’ll be happy with midtable given the state of the squad but I want to see progression in the players and the team, something that has only gone backwards.

Although I know we've been here before, Im going to ask the question, if we are finding ourselves in a relegation battle, in the new year, will the club have the guts to sack R oss?
Im not so sure they will, even though it was said at the time of his permanent appointment, and as a side issue, if they did, would Ling go too, as R oss is his protege, and almost like a son to him.
Personally, I think in the circumstances above , R oss will not get sacked, but moved 'sideways', and a new Head Coach brought in.
Having said all this, We may be nowhere near a relegation battle......I hope not, Im sick of them over the last 50 odd years
