Re: CENTRE HALF
Was surprised to see Coulson start ahead of Turley yesterday. Personally think Turley & Happe is our strongest pairing of what we have at present

Re: CENTRE HALF
On one hand yes but given we don't have many games against proper pro opposition makes you wonder if that was trying out "Plan A"Apple Wumble wrote: ↑Sun Aug 23, 2020 11:08 amIt was a friendly. Not sure I’d read anything into that
As regards Turley I hope not the case but could well be. Would rather play him and find out. Highlights the need for another CB though.

Re: CENTRE HALF
Maybe but I’d imagine that the players that didn’t play yday will get 90 mins on Wednesday. Guessing we will see Ross’ best lineup in the last friendlygshaw wrote: ↑Sun Aug 23, 2020 1:10 pmOn one hand yes but given we don't have many games against proper pro opposition makes you wonder if that was trying out "Plan A"Apple Wumble wrote: ↑Sun Aug 23, 2020 11:08 amIt was a friendly. Yeah but it’s about minutes more than who the opponents are.gshaw wrote: ↑Sun Aug 23, 2020 4:50 pmJust U23's again Wednesday though isn't it?Apple Wumble wrote: ↑Sun Aug 23, 2020 3:54 pmMaybe but I’d imagine that the players that didn’t play yday will get 90 mins on Wednesday. Re: CENTRE HALF
Yes but he likes to leave it to just before the window closes which I believe is Oct 7th or around that time. With the goals we have conceded so far a CH is a must.if they have someone on the radar get him in now before we are left with the hasbins.

Re: CENTRE HALF
Need both, plus a first-choice RB (but we all know the last one is fantasy territory)

Which centre halves have been at fault for goals so far?moonwalk19 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 23, 2020 5:54 pmYes but he likes to leave it to just before the window closes which I believe is Oct 7th or around that time. With the goals we have conceded so far a CH is a must.if they have someone on the radar get him in now before we are left with the hasbins.
Yes we need another one in there but I’m happy with all of a Happe, Turley, Coulson and even Widdowson in there.

Re: CENTRE HALF
Agree. I like Turley, but his injury record isn't good and we need better cover there.

Re: CENTRE HALF
What we actually need is a first choice CB to partner Happe. Coulson seems to struggle with the pace of League Two and Turley is too injury prone

Re: CENTRE HALF
I think we have to think outside the box and put Ling or Widdowson in at centre half - just a thought

Re: CENTRE HALF
If Widdowson starts the season at centre back the only system i can see working to our strengths is wing backs Judd or Ling. Turley, Happe and Widdowson with Brophy left wing back.
Protects full backs who cant defend and centre halfs who lack pace.

If we don’t know out starting shape now, then there is no hope for this upcoming season.
