I wonder how that stacks up against thory's good news post

You have to look at the overall picture and at present it is fine, I say fine as money is cheap right now. I think ten year bonds are at .22% and 30 years at something like .80%

The government has to keep the taps flowing otherwise we are in the proverbial do do. It can’t take us back to austerity as it will finish too many people in this country so it has to spend on infrastructure etc. And drive the economy forwards. If inflation were to increase that would be another way to help with the debt as it would reduce the value in real terms however, inflation doesn’t look like coming back anytime soon. So whilst money is cheap the government has to keep borrowing and spending.

Historically we have been in a worse debt to gdp position than we are now and recovered to I would think very healthy position of you look back through history.

£2 trillion (an unimaginably large number) will never be paid back. We'll probably attempt asset inflation as our way out, just like we did with Quantitative Easing. But for most people that will be devastating.

The education secretary needs to stay in post until September so that, when all the promises are broken and English schools don’t, in fact, fully reopen, there can be someone other than the prime minister who can take the blame.

Look at the stats someone posted on here, might have been PW, no children die of it and no children spread it.

My youngest son went back to school (Y6) after a lot of talking between my wife, son and I. No one in his school got it, no pupils, no teachers, no one. I would not send my son in to a situation that would be damaging to him or his health.

It is safe for the children to go back to school of that I'm convinced.

Ask yourself this.

A large new study from South Korea offers an answer: Children younger than 10 transmit to others much less often than adults do, but the risk is not zero. And those between the ages of 10 and 19 can spread the virus at least as well as adults do.

I know 6 people who have had it 1 died 3 hospitalised
The guy who died was 55 with no underlying health problems
The 3 that were hospitalised no real underlying helath problems
The other 2 had it terrible & could hardly do anything for months

1 a female teacher has had it since mid-late march
Is fit as a fiddle , runs half marathons etc

Now is just happy to make a walk in the sunshine where she lives.

Three in my extended family (separate homes). Two in their thirties, one just turned 50. First two were in intensive care, one has underlying issues (so she doesn't count at all as a human being lets ignore her life completely). The youngest and the most fit was there for weeks. Neighbour died from it at 58.

It's not just about deaths, it is about what it can do to a person longer term. What happens if within 5 years every person that has had it drops down dead because their lungs are so weakened? We don't know where we are with it so constantly thinking 'well most fit people under 40 do not die from it' isn't a particularly great measurement of safety.

Anyway, forget about our pending escape - that's not important.

What is important, for the majority of people in the UK, is the issue of stockpiling due to a No Deal Brexit; and this advice coming from (of all places!) an outlet of the Mainstream Media that has been so supportive of Brexit throughout. Blue Passports, Unicorns, the "oven-ready deal", you name it - they've promised the lot.
