Understand the first bit, but not the second.

Which pub is the Tory one then?
As I understand it lefties go to the birkbeck, righties to the coach and horses. Champagne socialists to the technical.
Champagne Socialists in the Technical! Ha ha. I must be one then.

The Technical is mainly the away fan pub along with the local gentrified supporter like myself :-). However as it is nearly 30 years since I moved to E11 from E5 not sure I really count as gentrified anymore, even if I do walk to and from the ground.

When it doesn’t rain and the pigeons haven’t shat over the seat, the East Stand Row A Upper can’t be bettered. As close as you can ever get to a football pitch with good legroom and closest to the pub. Also you get some atmosphere sitting next to the away fans.

Wow thank you all for the lovely welcome and for the info, exactly the blend of serious, informative, hopeful and self depreciating I was expecting :) Need the season to start now - hopefully see some of you in the pub and in the JE stand!

I drink in the coach and horses and the south stand bar. Or I’ll load up on Super Bock in Oceano. Technical is alright but I find it a bit soulless full of dullards/new to the area middle class knobs. Coach and horses is decent with a wide range of fans, including the Stone Island and Adidas trainer crew who hang around near the toilets.

South Stand is probably the best to sit in for atmosphere, if you like standing up for the Orient every 5 mins.

Did you watch the stream Paddy? What were your thoughts?

How did you make the transition to O's fan?

Yes I watched it from the 35th minute onward as soon as I got home from work. I thought we looked very good for being in preseason, but it's so hard to really take a proper view on it as they were playing U23s!

I have loved football all my life. I am born and raised in Sweden and my team there is AIK. They are very famous for their passionate fans and I went to every home game between the ages of 12 to 23 which is when I moved to London (I am 32 now). Since I moved here I have followed the PL intimately, admittedly with an extra eye on Chelseas results, but more from a want of having a team rather than feeling the emotions for them! Because of the way I see football and following a team I have always followed international football very closely too and I have traveled to see Sweden and Iran which is where my parents are from at both World Cups and Euros, last time was France 2016!

Having lived exclusively in East London since moving here I have always come across The O's in the papers when reading about football, good and bad being mostly over the last 9-10 years. I remember getting annoyed and thinking that is no way to treat a classic club and fans when reading about the Italian silly sausage and his shenanigans at the time and maybe a seed was planted there?! I just realised not long ago that I actually feel for them and I want to follow them. I want my future children to love football like I love football and I do not think you can get that in the PL and the top top level football so I very much look forward to introducing the O's in their lives from the first moment.

At the end of the day it is very much like falling in love, it happens without you really being able to pinpoint when and how it happened! Thinking about the team and seeing their results made me think "we" and "us" and here I am!

Apologies if it's a little long winded and rambling, but I just tried putting my thoughts in writing, and it's probably a discussion that would have been better suited over some drinks at the pub ;)

Back in the early 90's, I worked with a guy whose mum was Irish and dad Iranian. Poor bugger never managed to get through airport security without getting stopped.
