A 77 year old V a 74 year old. At 72 I find it quite hard running an end of terrace house in Grays. Why do the Yanks want these geriatrics?

Both parties have some good and much younger people than these two. I think a lot of it comes down to MONEY !!West Side Story wrote: ↑Fri Aug 21, 2020 6:43 am A 77 year old V a 74 year old. At 72 I find it quite hard running an end of terrace house in Grays. Why do the Yanks want these geriatrics?
You need to be very rich or to be able to get lots of cash donations to be able to run for President.

Re: U.S Election
Bret Stephens, a conservative columnist at the New York Times, recently wrote that supporting Biden is about “embracing mediocrity to ward off malevolence”.
I think that just about sums it up for me too.

Great Speech
How can you be celebrating a 77 year old attempting to be President. The 74 year old is clearly not up to it, and that's not just his politics. Surely a case of " fresh legs ".

American politics needs a different system whereby being elected to head of your political party and running for President does not depend on you having to be a Millionaire.West Side Story wrote: ↑Fri Aug 21, 2020 10:39 am The Gloves are off

Re: U.S Election
The Democrats are running an awful campaign so far.
I’ve watched a few of the speakers at the DNC, and most seem to follow the following pattern:
1. Trump is an awful man because [reasons].
2. Therefore, you must vote like your “life depends on it.”
3. America is broken because it’s “systematically racist”.
4. America is amazing, because you’re all wonderful too.
5. But we’re not divisive, oh no. We’re unifying. And better. Because we have… erm, empathy. Yeah, that’s it, empathy.
6. Oh, and by the way, Joe Biden for President. I thought I’d better mention his name at some point.
If I was a swing voter in the US, I’d not have a f*cking clue about a single thing the Democrats would do should they win power. They’re not asking for voters to necessarily vote for anything, only against something. And as a strategy, whenever it has been used previously, it has always been unsuccessful.
What a horribly vacuous and divisive campaign so far. Biden has managed to keep ahead in the polls, but only because he has been absent so far. If they lose this election it will be thoroughly deserved.

Stop backing the NRA & take the guns away
Far less will die .
Re: U.S Election
If elected I can't see Biden lasting a term. It's widely known in US that he's in the early stages of dementia. I cynically think he's just the means to get the first female president in the White House. He'll step down and the VP is automatically sworn in.

Re: U.S Election
The BBC’s obsession with US politics and elections surfaces again. Given it a separate tab on the Beeb website and already been the lead in one news bulletin. OMG 3 months of this. I’m bored already. I was in the US for the 1997 UK General Election campaign, it barely got a mention on CNN and ABC news, even the win by Blair didn’t get first mention in their bulletins. Anyways that’s my rant done. I’ll not say anymore until after the result.

Re: U.S Election
Get your money on Trump now while he’s still at longish odds.
Biden has benefited from not having to do anything these last 5 months. As soon as the debates start it’ll be game over for him and Trump’s odds will tumble
