I get you’re point Dunners. Thing is, left vs right now is cultural more than economics. The BBC as socially liberal is the other side of Trump, Brexit etc Fiscally there is no difference between labour and the tories. When you hear Tories complaining about Johnson’s performance so far it is nothing to do with the complete abandonment of fiscal discipline, it would be moaning about asylum seekers.

I've just listened to Boxing Life Stories and this episode was about Colin Hart the boxing journalist. He was talking about the power of the written press and how it is a fraction of what it once was. He gave examples of sales back in the 80's/90's and he said The Sun used to sell over 4m a day, the mirror over 5m the sun now sells just over 1m the mirror just over 600k he said the express was at a similar level. If the printed press has shrunk that much then surely there influence is also on the wane?

As a by product of this I can fully recommend Boxing Life Stories hosted by Tris Dixon, he is an excellent host and gets the best out of his guests. Well worth a listen and subscribe to.

Murdoch and co have other means of spreading their toxic message these days, they don’t have to rely on paper sales.
