What utter cr.p you spout. Delighted you contribute £300.00 + to the club each season but I’d almost pay you to stop your endless criticism and moaning. Be happy for the club, be happy for Ruel and be happy for ML. He does not need or deserve your unstoppable ranting. Would you like it if you were criticised so publicly in your chosen career for everything you did? ML was a great servant as a player got us promoted at Oxford and was ever present after our drop into the conference. Two years later we are back in the league. Re: Ruel Sotirisigned
Time will tell, and of course I hope I'm wrong as I don't want us to struggle again this season. Believe it or not, I'm actually quite optimistic for the coming season, as other clubs will be in much deeper doodoo than we are - so we might do rather well, in spite of Ling/Embleton, not because of them. IMHO.PoliticOs wrote: ↑Sat Aug 15, 2020 1:09 pmFair enough. Back in 2009, when "Ling Out" first started to make its ugly appearance, I stayed neutral, as I thought it was a bit premature. Doubtless there'll be some of our fans that back him now who were on his back back then.
I just think he's clearly not going to take us forward - he DAJ in 2017 when we needed a squad piecing together in a hurry, but that's a very different task to establishing us in League 1 and looking up rather than down.
I just personally don't see what you're basing that 'clearly' on, but its your shout.

Re: Ruel Sotirisigned
Fair enough. Where is the line though for you? So, if we went up as Champions for example, would that be because of them or still in spite? Back to back promotions etc? If both are here in 5 seasons and we're pushing for promotion from League One is this still in spite or because of? That's where I get confused and a little sad for those of you that are anti-them.
It seems like a self-fulfilling prophecy because in football you end up sacked normally, regardless. So if you're anti-anyone in football if you hold on long enough you're probably right.

Well, if we won the title this year, you could turn all of my anti-Ling/Embleton posts into alphabetty spaghetti and I would gladly eat my words.

So it’s OK to slag off a DOF but because you are a key worker I can’t call you an idiot for your constant moaning?
Why can’t I call you an idiot for all the above? Doesn’t stop me from respecting key workers.
You say you have a higher standing in society than me? Another ridiculous idiotic statement if I may say so. You have no idea what I do or contribute to society and I would never claim to do more than others. If I was a surgeon at a children’s hospital why would you have a higher social standing than me? Incidentally I’m not a surgeon but have no intention of lowering myself to tell you what I do.
Trouble with people like you is that you
think you are knowledgeable,
are always right,
are unable to accept another opinion
are incapable of being logical
never think of what effect your endless vitriolic attacks could have on people.
If you are a key worker in the medical world I sincerely hope you keep your opinions to yourself whilst dealing with individuals. Out of curiosity how would you cope if one of your clients was ML?
Next time you are at Brisbane Road tell me where you are so I can pay homage to society’s best.

Before I started posting on here, I used to hate Clay. I thought he was awful and offered nothing. That was at the start of the promotion season and before. He ended up being my player of the year that year and now he’s one of my favourite players. I do change my mind on things and will hold my hands up if I’m wrong or give praise where it’s warranted.PoliticOs wrote: ↑Sat Aug 15, 2020 1:11 pmI think that is it though, it comes across like you do not give the due respect for the good he does because you're so steadfastly sure he is rubbish. You asked if I would like it if I was criticised publicly for my job, I get criticised every day. I'm not interested in what you do.
Here's the thing. I am knowledgable, I do accept other opinions if they're thought out but I'm not at liberty to agree, all of my opinions are logical - probably too logical. As for the last part, what do you mean by that? Are you suggesting Martin Ling would give 2 fucks about what I think about what he does? Of course not.
I'm not a key worker in the medical world. If I was a doctor and he was a client, I'd treat him with the utmost kindness and the best of my ability but I would ask him some questions about Orient that I'd like to know the answers to and thank him for playing a role in getting Orient back on its feet.

Re: Ruel Sotirisigned
With these unbelieveable times in football we are facing i am feeling quite optimistic as to the prospects for Leyton Orient and the current season ahead. We have good owners who appear to run a steady ship compared to others. The commercial side of the club is very innovative and are regularly making decisions that are of great benefit to the club and probably lead the way in lower league football with thier ideas and innovations. The footballing side between seasons is always ao minefield of transfer debate and contracts. In the past few weeks i think a lot of positivety is happening on the team front and a couple more quality signings will have us in a very healthy position. Most other clubs are facing a lot more difficult decisions and will probably be struggling to be completely ready and focused for the start of the season. As always with every club in football fans have dithering views and prespectives but if we all in the main pull together, then things should move forward in a good way.
Probably our main period will be between the end of this coming season and the begining of 21/22. We will then be clearer in our position regards management and coaching and the playing squad with so many out of contract.
Stick together, let's not argue with each other disagree yes and things will be a whole lot better.

Why does this always happen when the club does something good? See the signing of Cisse for a recent example.
It’s weird.

Those of you who criticise the club and staff should go and join the supporters of Southend who at the moment cannot find a good word to say about their team . They are in a terrible state and there chairman is only bothered about moving into a new groun.
