There might be a signing if Sotiriou decides to leave.
It really is time for him to make his mind up".............Hopefully he will stay as I feel he would be a great signing.

There must be something going on with Sotirious move as we are keeping him on a weekly contract so that we can collect a fee. We probably cant afford to sign anyone until he moves on and i expect whatever his next potential club is they are similarly trying to move someone on.
Cant be Stevenage can it...surely no!!

Yes with our first friendly this weekend RE will want to look at different line ups and combinations etc
RE and Ling must be so frustrated, not being able to bring a target striker in until Sotiriou decides what the fcuk he’s doing.

If the club knows Sotiriou is definitely leaving then they should bring in a new striker regardless.

Hi Red & Cheshunto,
Refer "INTERVIEW / Director of Football Martin Ling on Pre-season, Current Squad, and more -Https.youtu.be/Tu7yk-G9NOM 20/07/2020. He clearly states that we are looking to sign a Striker and a Centre-Half, who can play Full-Back, REGARDLESS of the Sotiriou situation. The inference is that if Sotiriou does leave, we will be looking for 2 Strikers, ( if they choose to replace him.) So the club is currently trying to sign 2 players anyway. Sotiriou is a separate matter.

The Striker would replace Matt Harrold and the Centre-Back would replace Ekpiteta.

Would be surprised if we signed two forwards even if Sotiriou leaves or stays. If he go's we sign a target man centre forward if he stays we sign a target man centre forward.
Angol, Johnson, Wilkinson already there the club will not be laying out wages and possible signing on/transfer fees for two more forwards.
In other words only one new striker whatever the Sotiriou scenario.

Yeah circa 2010, way before Marsh joined

Inglethorpe going Liverpool was probably a big reason Spurs stopped sending an allotment of youth regularly

Aaah. Thought you meant more recently in the Travis / Teague era.

Didn't think you meant Townsend, Kane, Carroll, M'Poku and probably others I've forgotten.

Us turning into a basket case of a club and dropping out of the league may have had an impact too.

Well remembered. Butcher went on to work with Network Rail, Alnwick had a breakdown and I think I saw Button in the Premier League last season on the bench.

Probably a reason it never restarted but the loans dried up when Inglethorpe left, two seasons before the Italians joined.

The only Spurs loanee in those two seasons since he left was Shaq Coulthirst (who?) on a 1 month deal

Not really the whole Ruel scenario consists of many big decisions. His departure could be being held up due to lack of movement with his potential new club. Orient sitting on thier original offer and Ruel stuck in a sort of 'no man's land' waiting for a definite contract to sign with new club or accepting the Orient offer. My gut instinct is the club has upped thier offer and he may be close to signing and then we may bring a Centre forward type on loan.
This would then leave enough money in budget for a quality centre half that could involve a transfer fee.
Moneys tight i expect either Ruel signs and then we bring in a loan forward and centre half for a fee or Ruel does not sign and we lay out money on possibly a centre forward and centre half.
Two more signings.
