£1.2million per squad, including agents fees.

Bit confusing, I thought it was £1.5 million rather than £1.2 Million for League 2 ?
Wonder how all this will pan out and how can they enforce it this season or the season after ( if they do ) with some players who are already signed on long term contracts at high wages that will probably take some clubs over this salary cap of £1.5 Million.

Yes, it is £1.5million.

I initially put £2.5million, which is what I heard on the radio but then I corrected my post in line with some feedback above since that was the amount for L1 teams. Didn't sense check the £1.2million quoted though. It is £1.5million.

Wonder how clubs will work around the salary cap, perhaps a players wife paid to be on the admin team, bit like MPs hiring family to work in their offices to up their income?

Understand Bradford, they regularly get massive crowds for that level and wont be able to use that to improve their squad.

Southend thought? Maybe because it will mean they have to spend the money on bloody bills instead now.

In that case I was just wondering have we been too slow in signing any more new players

6 of our players are under 21, so they don't count. So, 18 are here already so capped (18 x £68K), means that we have £276k left to play with.

Mind you, taxes, fees, bonuses etc. are also included, so I dunno what that would all add up to.

With 3 k a week going to Ruel , it must be 5 others to split £116k

I said this on here weeks ago, someone will challenge it and it will become like the bosman case. Under eu law you can’t enforece this, it will be interesting how far someone will take this be it a player or union.

Not sure why anyone thinks the football authorities will be any more successful with this regulaltion than any of the others that clubs have driven a coach and horses through. Clubs will find a way round it.

It doesn't directly affect a players salary as it only applies to how much a club can spend overall. If a club wishes to pay a large amount to a few players and less to the others, that is their call surely.

now there is to be a legal challenge, does this mean, the status quo resumes, and there is no salary cap until the legal stuff has been sorted,( assuming the clubs win that legal challenge?)
