Senda sounds like an intelligent guy and thankfully he didn't use the word 'surreal' once!
Thanks for everyone's efforts in doing these programmes. Even more valuable in the current circumstances.

Re: Recording of The Orient Hour Aug 5 with Danny Senda and Dean Cox
There was one thing in particular that Danny mentioned about previous coaches/managers that he had worked with and been influenced by. He named John Gorman as the person who he would always call the "Gaffer" amongst all the managers he worked under.
John Gorman was a coach who loved to see his players express themselves, believe in themselves and he would always give them encouragement. In return players would run through brick walls for him in return.
When Peter Eustace was given the managers job Gorman was also interviewed but Frank Clark believed he was too close or friendly with the players so he went with Eustace. Probably one of the biggest mistakes this club has made.
If Danny followes the examples of John Gorman we could just have ourselves a damm good coach.

Thanks for the comments folks. I thought Dean spoke well tbf.
Ackney is on the money re John Gorman. Frank didn't give him the job and John left very disappointed. I can say 1st hand a lovely man. Awful moment when his team Wycombe were playing at Yeovil and I was commentating for ITV West, after the match I went to the press room to grab the Yeovil manager for an interview and John saw me came over, gave me a hug then tearfully told me his wife was seriously ill with cancer, awful moment to see him totally broken. When she died I think a lot of John's drive died with her. Lovely guy who even turned out for the team I was running a cpl of times. Played football with the likes of Pele and Beckenbauer in America if I remember rightly.

Re: Recording of The Orient Hour Aug 5 with Danny Senda and Dean Cox
When John Gorman was coach of our youth teams i watched most of the matches, home and away. I used to have Orient players live at my house and at that time i had two young players from Dublin. It was John who approached me and asked me to take in players, he also inspected my house. The things i witnessed and what the boys told me only confirmed that John was one of the best people you could ever meet.
We played the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, W.H.U, Spurs and other top southern based teams. He had our boys playing a style of football that made us competetive every game. In one match against Spurs they had a midfielder named Darren Caskey who was captain of England youth, at half time he was dragged off because a certain Chris Bart-Williams was making him look silly. John wanted the boys to play with freedom and express themselves, which they certainly did.
When John was Ass.Manager under Glenn Hoddle at Spurs a friend of mine was dying of cancer and a fund raising event was being held for his family. He was a Spurs supporter and i approached John and within 24hrs i was at Spurs training ground collecting kit and memorabilla. That was John Gorman!
Broken hearted when i heard about John's wife and i wish him all the best and good health.
Sorry to go on everyone but i was so fortunate to call him a friend.
