Sat Navs
I had a Tom tom, sat Nav, which was a present in 2014, but earlier this year Tom Tom made it obsolete, by not allowing anymore map updates.
Anyway, I decided to use an app on my phone, but which is the best?.
I actually started by installing Amigo, a free app, which isn't at all bad for a free app. Gives directions and speed camera alerts.
As of this week I've started using Google maps, which has better voice instructions. But their map is a bit too zoomed out. If you pinch the screen to make it zoomed in, you lose the Speedo, and road speed limit.
Anyway, does anyone else use an app on their phone for navigation, and if so, which one, and is it any good?

Re: Sat Navs
Use google mainly. Apple is ok but seems to pick some strange routes. Used Waze once or twice which seemed to have more info on screen like speed cameras and other cars for traffic.

I tried here we go, and didn't think it was particularly good.RealLoughtonO wrote: ↑Tue Jul 28, 2020 7:22 pm Here WeGo is good, as is Google maps, use them both with no problems.
Waze, wants to take you down the smaller roads, rather than fast roads so not for me either

Re: Sat Navs
Not sure what the benefits are of a paid system, Google maps gives me all the info I need when travelling, now retired so the 30k a year spent on business driving negates a 'premium' paid system, again, what are the benefits?

Re: Sat Navs
The default Maps App on the iPhone. I find it very good. Better than the sat nav in the car. Not sure whether its Google or Apple or someone else. Mrs NES loves it.
