Re: pc Harper injustice
So sad, a man doing his job ended up losing is life in the most terrible of ways and died an horrific death. I really feel for the family.
They knew what they were doing, they were laughing in the court at what was being described, totally disgusting people. Hopefully a long custodial sentence will be passed as society can do well without these sorts of people terrorising it or even walking around in it.

I hope they have to share a cell with a big beefy bruiser, who has a penchant for pretty boys of Irish descent.

You made your initial post without even knowing that they were travellers - I bought that up, to see what your reaction would be, and it’s been exactly what I was expecting.greyhound wrote: ↑Fri Jul 24, 2020 5:48 pmperhaps stowaway should read this exactly my point.West Side Story wrote: ↑Fri Jul 24, 2020 4:22 pm These boys set out, as the Prosecution stated, to steal a quad bike by any means. These lads had a large axe, three crowbars and a hammer. These are not the tools to steal a bike that is secure. These are tools used to threaten or harm anyone intent on stopping them. I have no doubt they intended to use them if necessary. A blind man on a white horse would have realised they were dragging the PC behind their car. They didn't care. Just look at them leaving the Court after the initial hearing. THEY DON'T CARE. They are brought up to despise ordinary people. They know we are soft on them and they love it. They don't abide by our laws, but use the laws to get away with murder. I have had quite a bit of experience dealing with them and it ain't nice. My foster-daughter used to work at Dagenham Bowls, they came in at week-ends to cause trouble. I worked part-time at Lakeside McDonalds. Their parents bring the kids in and show them how to get food for nothing. They are deliberately rude and provocative. There is a site not too far from me accessed by a single track road. Most of them do roofing. A job that is very difficult to check on their workmanship. They use Race Relation Laws to their advantage. Claiming that we are Racist. They are Irish not Romany. The Irish take a much harder line with them. Time we did too.

If it was the other way around and a copper had dragged a gypsy to his death you'd be marching through the streets.

Well, yeah. But if a teacher was a paedophile it would be more noteworthy than a non-teacher as their job is to keep kids safe specifically. You know this you silly goose.

It would make front page news around the world. More protests and defund the police marches. The only protests that will come from this will be from people moaning if these thugs get life.

Actually, no. Let's give you the benefit of the doubt. Without ambiguous waffle or moving to other questions; do you really believe people are more angry about the prospect of these guys getting life than they are the tragic manslaughter of this police officer?
Do you really, truly, honestly believe that?

Re: pc Harper injustice
Lots of words typed on here about the police and the killers.
How many of you are prepared to do anything to help?
Every year, I take part in the UK Police Unity Tour which is a 3 day bike ride https://ukpoliceunitytour.org/
This raises funds for the Charity "Care of Police Survivors" http://www.ukcops.org/ This charity do sterling work supporting families of officers killed in the line of duty.
Ironically this year's ride should have been this weekend, but is now delayed to the end of October.
How about backing up your words by donating to the Charity? https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/peterbennett2020
I'm guessing very few of you will back up your words with a donation to this charity. Words are easy for people to type. Let's see you back it up with real support for the charity

They should be properly protected and funded by the government, shouldn’t have to rely on charity. It’s like the nurses and nhs relying on charity (captn Tom etc.) during the worst pandemic to hit this country in living memory.

‘Gypsy’ is a politically incorrect term and also considered racist.Prestige Worldwide wrote: ↑Sat Jul 25, 2020 8:35 pm If it was the other way around and a copper had dragged a gypsy to his death you'd be marching through the streets.

Nothing to with the police the prosecution. You do not know what you are talking about.Ornchurch wrote: ↑Fri Jul 24, 2020 1:59 pm And some people wonder why people have lost respect for the Police.
Should have been life. These 3 are wrong uns and will degenerate further. Their associates looked to intimidate the jury so that says a lot about them.
The Police have got to be given powers to actually do their job and police. They have got to be stronger and have to be protected against these sort of attacks. Kid gloves leads to having the p*ss taken out of them.

Re: pc Harper injustice
I dare say the term Police is being used as a generic term for the whole justice system. It is not uncommon. Same way as we talk about Orient as a generic term for players, coaches, management, office staff etc.Oiram wrote: ↑Sun Jul 26, 2020 4:03 amNothing to with the police the prosecution. What I was trying to say is that if a police officers life means so little then it is no wonder that the likes of these 3 pikeys do what they did and laugh about it.
The police need to be allowed to do their job without fear of being killed and anyone found to have killed an on duty officer under any circumstances should get a mandatory life sentence.
In the last 30 years or so the police force has been diluted so much that they are now no more than figures of fun to certain members of the public. That has got to be reversed.
