Wages? He could afford to pay to play the millions he has earned previously.

Let us dream a little? Kind of signing that would get wavering season ticket holders and the usual ‘Glory Seekers’ to reach for their chequebooks. The type that when Orient draw against a big club phone you up after many years asking if there are ‘any spare tickets going’ or drop out of the sky from nowhere in a promotion battle like a Waltham Forest Council Traffic Warden.

Re: Ya Ya Toure
I will literally wet myself if he signed. The man is one seriously good footballer and in his prime was at times unplayable. Imagine him and Cissie in the centre of the pitch, it would be game over before we even kick off.
This is proper exciting and I would just love it if he were to play for us, all that experience, all those winners medals and awards, what a role model to the other players. Plus everyone would up their game just cos he is on the pitch.
Please please make this happen.

My thoughts exactly. Despite his age he would become one of the best players ever, maybe the best, to wear an Orient shirt.Thor wrote: ↑Fri Jul 24, 2020 7:10 pm I will literally wet myself if he signed. Bazza would get him in just for the PR value. And at 37 he won’t expect massive dosh. He would certainly get me back to the stadium.

I predicted that we had lost out on Cisse. So let me now state that Toure won’t sign for us. Hoping I keep up my record of bad predictions.

His contract in China was reportedly worth £36million per year.Dohnut wrote: ↑Fri Jul 24, 2020 7:21 pmMy thoughts exactly. I agree he would not be as money motivated now but I don't think we'd even bother paying him the £10k a week or whatever we convince some sponsor to pay him. Might as well not bother. It'll not even be worth his time sending us his bank details. And he's obviously not signing here!

From what he said in the interviews, I get the impression he's missing playing football......thats it. Hes a millionaire many times over, so money doesn't matter to him.....he just wants to play football, and i reckon we do have a chance to sign him

Re: Ya Ya Toure
If the salary cap was to be delayed until 2021/22 and we could find a sponsor for his wages I would love it. But it won't happen.

I’m enjoying the growing consensus that he is simultaneously (a) so old that he wouldn’t need paying much and (b) not actually that old that he’s a crock who can’t get a game anywhere else

Re: Ya Ya Toure
On another topic most people were saying that our highest earners were on around £1,500 per week so we could offer him the same and if we have any home crowds over 7,000 (ave 5,600) YaYa would pick up the difference in wages minus tax.
In reality what sort of wage would he be looking for if he's playing for enjoyment alone, then maybe a minimum of £40,000 per week could sway him (i doubt it).
Other option 3 month deal until christmas, this could tie in with fitness, location and any other personal issues.
Then again pigs might fly
