Would it necessarily scupper Starmer?
What if it meant that some of those people who felt they could not vote Labour whilst Corbyn was in charge and deserted to the Tories were prepared to come back to (a new) Labour? Also, Brexit will (probably) have no impact on the next GE so people may be able to return to old allegiances.
If Layla Moran wins the LibDem leadership she said she wants to take the LibDems left of Labour, which might also cost them voters.
A middle ground Labour party could pick up a lot of votes.

Its hard to have a reasoned discussion with a person who gives no questions asked support to a apartheid racist state as you do, then calls anti racists...racist .
I had that thought as well, far from what the Brighton Labour party has done today the Tories suspended a counciller for Islamaphobic postings only to reinstate her two day later lest they lost control of the council.

Well, not really. They didn't achieve a majority in 2010, 2015 or 2017. But they did under Boris. No point in anyone on the left diminishing the significance of the UK saying no to the left and yes to the right, so comprehensively both ways.
Inexplicably though, I must add. It shows why ideology trumps competency. They've been terrible fora decade but were rewarded with a big f*** off majority because people like their ideology and excuse their incompetence.
