Hello Andy

Given Martin Ling’s comments on the two additions at centre half and forward he’s looking to bring in.

What sort of player in those positions do people feel we would require?

Ling said he wants 2 more in, one of whom will be a striker. What names do the panel think would fit the bill

Are we looking at quantity rather than quality
in this squad ??

And would questions need to addressed if
the long term injured return to the squad
only to go off on long term injury again ..

There will be a limit on squad size (if it's voted in as part of the salary cap) not entirely sure of the numbers being proposed I think it's 22 senior players(might be 25) over the age of 21 years and as many under the age of 21 as you like.

Puts the emphasis back on having a decent youth system and giving those young players some football.

As far as the salary cap is concerned I think it might be deferred until next season there doesn't seem much time to get it agreed and implemented before this season starts.

Managers, across all industries and the business spectrum, work to achieve agreed targets.

What targets do you think Ross been set, for the following season?

Does the panel think that we are a little top heavy with our coaching staff. With Ross, Jobi, Dean Daniel and Alex all associated with the 1st team this seems overloading the pay structure.

Considering we will more or less start next season with the squad that ended last season, do the panel see any reason why we would crack the playoffs or would they be happy with another consolidated bottom half finish?

Surely we eed to be within striking distance of the play offs for the run in to next season, I don't think anyone will be happy with another 17th to 20th finish, which was I think deemed acceptable all things considered last season, on the other hand we don't have the talent IMHO to sustain a promotion push toward the top three - We will be getting two more senior pros in and an under 21 probably from Spurs but some areas of the team/squad need more radical changes.
We
The club target is for a promotion at least every four seasons, Justin managed it in two, the pressure will certainly be on Ross to take the club forward and that means a higher finish every season.

My question is with all the expense surrounding Covid and the damage done to the club finances could we sustain league one football if we went up next season.

Three positions need strengthening right back, centre half and striker. They need to be proven quality signings or it's mid to lower half of the table.
Do you think the club have the wages to cover quality signings or will they wait until the end of the coming season and release players to free up money for new additions.

We already have 2 right backs with others like Turley to cover. How many do you want and who leaves to make way and are you going to tell them that they are not wanted anymore

POSHO you asked how many i want for right back the answer is One of quality along with the other two positions also of proven quality. Unfortunately i doubt this will happen because of squad size and contracts. Apparently we are now looking for a centre half who can play right back which will probably mean we are in the same position in two years time. I know the dilema facing the club they are looking to sign players who play more than one position but that dilutes the quality.
