How did they do if you change the base to only cover the time the Cowleys were in charge?
13 wins out of 39 league games.

They had 1 point from the first 9 games. No Championship club has ever been in that position and survived. They genuinely have a magic wand.

I think they'll be the managers to take Bristol City into the Premier League.

Deserved a whole season I agree but doesn’t exactly make him the second coming.

He had a couple decent seasons at Lincoln, so no call for the hype fest that’s going on here imho. It is highly possible that some managers are better at that level and struggle the higher up the leagues they go, as they face different challenges/problems (bigger egos for a start) They couldn’t turn round a decent squad for that level and it’s interesting that they finished exactly where they were halfway through his spell as manager, with 20 games still to play. This would suggest to me that progress was stalled and they weren’t improving.

It’s all about opinions.

How much further were you expecting them to progress? It’s a squad that was one of the worst teams in the Premier League ever and lost some of its better players.

Nobody is saying they’re the second coming but comfortably keeping up a team that had 1 point from its first 9 is a pretty reasonable job no?

You also need to look at the Cowleys’ history if you think all they’ve managed is a couple of decent seasons

OK,
At what level though;

National league south. Concorde
National league. Braintree
League 2. Lincoln

Suggests progression, but not deserving of the hero worship that some are displaying in this over hyped thread. Maybe it’s because they’re from this way , I don’t know 🤷🏼‍♂️

As I say managers have a ceiling and these are still unproven above L2 level in my opinion.

It is all about opinions, and I get that. But I think you've got a little negative bias here. They took Concord Rangers from the Essex Senior and up three divisions into the Conference South for the first time, took Braintree as part timers on a very low budget to 3rd in the Conference and playoffs, took Lincoln up into the league in his first season AND the FA Cup Quarter finals as a non league side knocking out Premier League opposition. He then, first year in the league, won the EFL Trophy and finished 7th, then won the league the next year. He has a win rate with Huddersfield of 32%. Chris Wilder, considered by all to have done a brilliant job with Sheffield United, has 37%.

It is your opinion of course but you're a tough one to impress!
