If Ruel does leave in the perfect world i would love to see Troy Parrott arrive on loan from Spurs. I know he will almost definetly be loaned to a championship club but maybe our inside man "Harry Kane" could pull a few strings...could just imagine thier conversation.
Harry " well Troy you've always wanted my shirt, then get yourself down the Orient, you can have the choice of three"
Troy " Thanks Harry what a top man you are"

The club going public like this - absolving themselves of any blame and putting it all on the player - is officially the end of things.
How sh*tty can things have been for the relationship to get to this stage?
Also worth noting that we offered a contract back in November, at which point he wasn't even deemed worthy of a place in our first team squad. So you can only imagine how derisory the offer was.
Complete rubbish.
Club are being honest With the fans.As has been said previously the player holds all the aces if the club stop paying him we lose out on a fee, Players leave at the end of contracts every season it doesn’t mean the relationship has broken down, he’s obviously going somewhere on more money it may not be the best career move like Porter but it might and it’s his call.
I posted on here previously that he and Marv turned down contracts around Christmas time this has been planned for months.

What Martin said about the squad being good to go, with maybe one more centre half (who can also play right back) and a striker to come in, possibly.
Is that realistic?
Who has left over the summer? Matt Harold, Marvin, is that it so far?

You think this is a healthy relationship?
It’s what happens in football Ruel and his agent have been setting this up for months- Club have said they would be happy for him to stay. Club have told it how it is.
It’s completely Ruels decision.it nothing to do with”relationships” it’s his career his choice. It was the same with Porter.

Nice edit.
This is exactly what the interview is about. Covering their arses and making the player out to be the bad 'un - as Porter was, as Adams was , as etc etc.

Aye. And it feels like the only time we see Ling these days is when his sourpuss demeanour can be put to good use.

Also, look forward to us drawing Peterboro in the cup at some point over the next 3 years and watching Embleton lose his sh*t and get sent off after Ruel scores against us and gives it to us fans.
Embleton still in charge 3 years from now? I think I might prefer a second spike of COVID.

How long do we have to keep up this weekly wage charade to get comp? Months if he doesn't find a club? Money for nothing isn't it
We don't. We only needed to offer him a new contract matching or slightly exceeding the value of his previous one in order to retain rights to compensation.

But you know that's tosh don't you. You're just making wild guesses and surmises about what may have happened, maybe a relationship problem, maybe this, maybe that.....
It appears to be down to Ruel to decide if he wants to accept an offer or not. It's that simple.
No one said Ruel’s a bad en if that’s your take on Lings interview it’s a bit warped. Ling explained nothing they can do but they would still like him to sign for us .
Exactly the same situation with Marv. Ruel will end up with a larger club on more money. Won’t stop people blaming the club and Ling as you are currently proving.

We have had fans slating the club for not making enough effort to resign him already based on no evidence at all. So this makes it clear that we have been trying to re-sign him since last November (again, there is no evidence to back up the derisory offer claim).
The club is damned if they do and damned if they don't. Clearly Sotitiou isn't coming around so no issue with the club making this statement.

This. So another full-back doesn't particularly bode well for the likes of Judd, Ogie etc. Squad still looks light on quality to me.

I like the club coming out with this.
Over to you Ruel. Ball's in your court fella.
I don't.
How on earth is the position resolvable now?
Easily. If he leaves it's resolved. If he stays then Ling gives an interview stating that he's enormously happy to have Ruel, that Ruel is enormously happy to be staying and wants to show his delight by scoring a bucketful of goals. Ruel then adds his weight behind this, cue pics of smiley handshakes.....

Cant blame the kid for not signing a contract when James Alabi was deemed more worth of a place on the pitch, or even the bench.
Totally agree, playing Alibi in front of Ruel was a major f*ck up by the club, can't blame him for looking elsewhere for a club that will allow his talent to shine. Can't believe how the club have got themselves into such a mess and we all know who made the decision to play Alibi instead of Ruel, heads must roll.
If we aren't bringing another midfielder in, I'd assume that means we're going back to 4-4-2. Would be mad to have 4 players competing for 3 cm positions.
None of the full backs are good enough IMO (hence why we had two midfielders filling in those positions) and Clay/Wright aren't particularly impressive as partners to Cisse. If we are bringing in another striker, have to hope its someone with a better track record of scoring in the football league than our current bunch.
Our season will depend on whether the next crop of young players make an impact. Squad is light on quality otherwise and will involve a lot of square pegs going into round holes, which is pretty poor considering that a DOF is supposed to provide a clear vision.

The cards have been dealt, its up to the parties involved how it will play out.
In my opinion he has left the building which I'm sad about as I do believe he has good potential and I'd have liked to have seen it play out here before moving on to bigger and better things.
This is football, this is what happens since the courts ruled in Bosmans favour.
Scores a couple of goals in the conference and now thinks he is billy big balls. I am no fan of Minicab Ling but what’s he supposed to do. Let the bloke go and sit in Peterborough reserves for a couple of years before he ends up at Canvey Island.

Ling did not say "can also", he said something along the lines of "can possibly". Its that typical utility centre back we've seen over the years - jack of all trades.......
