Re: VAR
Well, at least it's tried and tested technology, with top professional referees presiding over the decisions. Well it is in the Premier league and it's still crap so imagine what quality of dummys would be presiding over decisions by the time it trickled down to our league. Can't see it happening tbh. It would be mayhem - and fricking expensive to put in place.

Re: VAR
It was ok for the World Cup but it's ruining the game. I was a fan but it's all over the place, especially with the stupid rules it's enforcing like the new hand ball rule.
Get rid for everything thats based on an opinion and put in robots for offside - the fact its a bloke trying to put something on the toe of a player, from a weird angle, is laughable.

Re: VAR
Would love it. Seems to add loads more drama to games, even though it’s supposed to do the opposite.
Maybe bring out an app where we can all watch the VAR footage back on our phones as well?

Re: VAR
Then we could do away with the refs watching the VAR footage and just put decisions to a vote among app users. User who votes the most times in a month gets a bun or something.

Re: VAR
VAR. Bad idea and very badly implemented.
Yes, I was at Elland Rd when Boyd’s shot crossed the line but I still say VAR = death of the game.
We might as well sit at home and watch the ol’ teleprinter!

We could be onto something here.

Re: VAR
How does it add to the drama when your team scores and you have to wait minutes before you can celebrate?
It's sucking the life and joy out of the game.
The implementation in this country has been shocking. It involves too many subjective decisions where you know the VAR ref will not overturn the decision of a colleague. All decisions should be referred back to the ref to review on screen and overturn his own decision if required.
Some of it though is down to the media who wanted it brought in to ensure more correct decisions but are now moaning when someone is deemed offside by a mm. You wanted it, you've got. You can't be a little bit offside.

Re: VAR
In principle I think VAR is a good idea. The problem is with the remote referees who are adjudicating what they are seeing. Giving offside over a millimetre is plain stupid and they really dont want to call out an on-pith referee who misses something like yesterday's non-penalty on Zaha.
The handball rule further complicates things but some of these remote refs are just goddam awful.

Re: VAR
Don’t need it as matches are snails pace. If did have big screen, could analyse how many times certain people get out of their seats getting drinks , burgers, hotdogs throughout match, never seem to watch much of the game.
