Re: Charlie Lee
Right decision going forward, his tweet sounds like he won't be playing today so I guess McAnuff gets the gig in CM alongside Clay

Re: Charlie Lee
That’ll be a loss.
Craig Clay gets my vote for vice captain as obviously Jobi will stay as captain

Re: Charlie Lee
A good time to announce it.
A lot of people in a charitable mood.
Right decision, had high hopes when he joined and a disappointment overall, not helped by injuries.
Unlike many others on Twitter I'd be lying if I said I was gutted, if we are only gonna make 2 signings they both should be central midfielders.
Interesting to see where he ends up. I certainly believe there is a better player in there than what he showed with us.

Re: Charlie Lee
Good luck to Charlie, hope he finds another club to play for and hopefully he will get better luck next time round in avoiding anymore nasty injuries.

Re: Charlie Lee
Josh Coulson I would have thought, but those who are on the training staff will have a good idea as to who is best suited to these leadership jobs.

Shame that it didn’t work out, hope he gets fixed up sharpish elsewhere. Another promotion on his cv can’t hurt.

Re: Charlie Lee
Good luck. Not had much with us injury-wise but at least he’s taking a champions medal and cup runners up medal as a reward for his time here. Wish him all the best.

How do you define " didn't work out". He helped us win promotion .CreamofSumYungGai wrote: ↑Sun May 19, 2019 10:23 pmAgreed with all of that.eagwgw wrote: ↑Sun May 19, 2019 2:19 pm A good time to announce it.

Re: Charlie Lee
^ this exactly.
He was a large part of why we won the league and I'm not sure why he attracts so much stick from our fan base on this forum.
Charlie helped the club achieve what we as fans wanted and I'll never be a knocker of him and appreciate his efforts. That we have now moved up a level and the manager wants a better player, that's how football works. Players come and players go, but as long as they do their beat whilst here I'll be happy with them. Charlie is certainly not a player who didn't try or put in a shift or didn't dig in when called upon.

Re: Charlie Lee
I don't think it is stick, just more like anything that isn't wholly positive is deemed as such.
I also think Charlie Lee would be the first to admit it hasn't gone as he hoped here, although some of this isn't his fault.
Signed as captain, suffered bad injury costing him a whole season. Lost the captaincy and first-team spot. Recovered well to gain it back. Got injured, came back aided by McAnuff breaking a bone in his foot, then lost his place in the side again and never recovered it.
We could say James Alabi helped us win promotion as he had scored some goals and done some assists but even Ling Snr was on the radio a while back saying it hadn't worked out yet.
I do wish him well, as I do for the other lads that go, but I ain't gonna lie and pretend I am gutted that he is gone. It almost reads as if he came here to play for free and we were not offering League money.

Re: Charlie Lee
I define 'didn't work out' as in being unable to hold down a spot in the starting 11, our midfield woes finally resolved by a change of formation and playing a near 40 year old winger in Charlies spot.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Mon May 20, 2019 12:49 pmHow do you define " didn't work out".
