one of the newer 'ITK' BS accounts - but this has been suggested by other accounts too so might be some truth in it - other account has got quite a few right, but they say we've offered something but the player is stalling due to other offers, whereas this page suggests we've agreed a deal - hopefully we'll know either way within the next few days

From the Womble's forum "Wordsworth was a quality player but injuries this year cost him a contract".

Sounds familiar

We have tried to sign him before, Slade wanted to sign him. TBF he is decent but has had injury problems (like everyone else we seem to sign)

TBF, that is one of the first attributes Ling looks for in a player.

Surely more of an attacking, than defensive midfielder (?)

If that Is the case, and we are still signing a DM, then would start to look more like Wright's days might be numbered...

Or that Cisse won’t be joining us maybe.

Definitely attacking. I would love this signing. Great player. Too good for League Two for me. Would be really pleased. He has been close before too.

does fit in with what Kent Teague said last season, that any new signing must be League One capable

This is what I'm also thinking. Hopefully we're wrong because Cisse would be a very good signing.

Strange one. We have two well paid central midfielders in Clay and Wright not to mention two talented youngsters in Kyprianou and Shabani. What we are really lacking is a holder not another forward thinking midfielder. I mean, sure, goals from midfield would be a bonus but that isn't going to matter a toss if we can't control midfield.

He has been linked with a move to the O’s on several occasions in the past. My recollection of him at Colchester a couple of years back is that he was a good player - strong and with an eye for goal - if he still has those qualities he should be a good signing

''What we are really lacking is a holder not another forward thinking midfielder''
Leyton Orient supporters on this forum have been saying this very same message again and again for the last 3 seasons. Signing holding midfielders seems a bit of a blind spot in Ling's way thinking when he goes about the task of setting up a football team.

Isn't a "holding midfielder" a tactical position, rather than a reference to a players skillset? We need a good quality mobile ball winning central midfielder, but just because we need one of those that's no reason to not sign any other players in other positions in the meantime.

Agree with this. Odds are that he would be an upgrade on Wright & Kyprianou at the least.

Decent pedigree. 31 so not too old these days. Only 10 games for a struggling AFC Wimbledon side Last season is a bit worrying. Dropping down a level may be right for him now.

But my guess is that if we sign him, Cisse is off the menu.

My shrimper nephew thinks that he can be a quality player but a bit injury prone. And can be lazy and frustrating. But overall he liked him. So if he signs, stays injury free and is motivated by Ross we may have a winner.

But I really hope we don’t have another player who is injured some of the time then not quite up to speed when fit. And that Ross is able to get the best out of him because he has quality.

Lot of ''If's'' there, especially the thought of being motivated by Ross........Motivated by a Ross team talk to doze off more like it !

Should he sign I’m sure he will be fit and ready for game 1. We’ve had enough of contracts for players who are unavailable for months. That just won’t happen again, will it.

Sadly I find Ross interviews generally boring. Lacking any real insight and uninspiring. His chats have got better to be fair, he seems comfortable talking. But motivational, don’t work for me.

As someone who's had a Wimbledon season ticket for the last 3 years..... He shows up well in about a third of the games he plays in which aren't many as he's regularly injured

He annoyed the fanbase as well by regularly posting pictures out on the pi*s at the wrong moment

During the promotion season were there not people asking for a
ball playing midfielder with creativity to spray the ball around ?

Lazy b*stard scouting
watching videos , listening to fat agents over lunch, and watching players videos 20 years ago - old fashioned sh*t
get off yer fat arse and scout the lower leagues for hungry talented players who are eager , want to play, would love to have a professional contract playing football, and are not injured
scout the teams in the lower leagues for players want to play rather than the journeymen who are just doing the circuit for I dont give a sh*t 2 year contract
My god we have enough coaches but we need the young talented players to coach not old set in their ways who dont give a toss .
There are hundreds of players who would play for expenses, its called active scouting
