The key here is 'not necessarily based on fact or knowledge' so I'd respectfully suggest that those ACTUALLY involved in the incident might have a better understanding than you.Ornchurch wrote: ↑Sun Jul 12, 2020 3:47 pm opinion
noun
1.
a view or judgement formed about something, not necessarily based on fact or knowledge.
"that, in my opinion, is right"
2.
a statement of advice by an expert on a professional matter.
"if in doubt, get a second opinion"
So, as your opinion is no more relevant than anyone else who is it for to decide?

it would be a good start if everyone had the same approach and stopped calling out 'isms on behalf of others.

Yes, he is a genuine character and just what the PL needs to counter the surliness of Jose and the humourless Pep.

Not a single person who deems it acceptable to call Akinfenwa a water buffalo would dare SAY IT TO HIS FACE

Re: Akinfenwa
That's true but also the same in other scenarios.
The blokes in the ground giving the signs and offering out opposition fans from the safety of a different stand or behind a row of plod would crap a brick if they ended up face to face.
I don't think anyone would call the ref a w*nker to his face either apart from the players

Interesting, as he said on the radio the other day he was already contracted to Wycombe for the 2020/21 season.

Re: Akinfenwa
AFC Wimbledon thought they had got the best out of Akinfenwa and on 30th May 2016, after scoring a penalty in a 2–0 win against Plymouth Argyle in the League Two Play-off Final, Akinfenwa was released from his contract with them. He told Sky Sports in his post-match interview: "I think I'm technically unemployed, so any managers hit me up on the WhatsApp and get me a job"

Re: Akinfenwa
It will be interesting to see how he copes in The Championship next season. I don`t think he has played at that level before.
At 38, with "special" skills, it will be a big test for him. I look forward to it!

Re: Akinfenwa
In my eyes a buffalo is a strong animal that’s difficult to take down. They aren’t that agile but they take a huge amount of effort and strength to subdue. As seen on various animal TV documentaries.

Akinfenwa also posts a photo of him with a grown man on his back with a split screen of a buffalo with a lion on his back before the comment by the opposing staff member is made.
