No signings yet? Yes, its frustrating especially as the season ended early for us. I suspect however that we will have to wait quite a few more weeks to sign up anyone. I dont think we will get Cisse and then its going to be a case of musical chairs as players and clubs play musical chairs.

As long as we end up with a strong defensive midfielder in the Cisse mould plus a younger Harrold, I will be more than happy.

I agree with that plus we could do with a better RB than Ling and Judd . Of course I know that won't happen but when Marsh played at RB last season he proved himself to be a better RB than both Ling and Judd put together . With Marvin leaving the defence needs reinforcements.

TBF im relatively comfortable with Coulson, Happe, Turkey, Widdowson, Ogie all being able to play at CB.

We need centre mids, creative and holding players, a right winger and an experienced goalscorer.

Unfortunately, with a very full squad, we haven't really got capacity and i'd imagine the club wouldn't want to commit to anyone early without knowing when the season will be starting.

It is a very good phrase to use as a subjective summary but what is the specific reasons,to keep making this statement

The only one thing I can imagine is that the club try and let players see out their contracts and they may be more receptive to extend contracts more than other lower clubs

It would be wonderful if this phrase was clarified with clear simple evidence maybe I am missing something obvious to grasp

* Players always get paid on time (unlike at some other clubs)
* Open communication from Owners and Directors (unlike at many other clubs)
* Welcoming culture for new players - no cliques
* Tremendous away support (even in the National League)
* Strong BAME contingent within the Club
* Excellent development and promotion of youngsters over many years (currently Happe, Ogie, Sweeney, Kyprianou etc but before that Taylor, Roeder etc)
* Players at the end of their career have coaching opportunities with the Club (eg Jobi, Harrold, Lawless)
* Finally, Harry Kane supports the Club!

Would agree wholeheartedly with all the above with one exception - no cliques! I feel that the Carl Fletcher episode tends to indicate otherwise. Sorry if you find that negative but that’s how I see it.

I would have thought that any signings will be influenced once the season has finished at all clubs. I'm sure that Ling and his scouts have identified players, Ross has had his input and we are probably looking at availability. Some loans will be looked at from possibly premier league clubs, Spurs may well be our "goto" partner.

Some players from the championship may be an option and until that's concluded not much will move.

Add on the uncertainty around finance and the clubs are rightly holding back on commitments until such times as matters become clearer.

In closing, am I concerned? No. Should we be worried? No.

All will come good in due time and this season more than any other in our history holding off may just be a good idea for once.

Ah the annual Ling moan-a-thon. Do we know when the season will start? Do we know when the transfer windows will be? Do we know what the salery cap will be? Do we know if there will be squad size limits? Mostly no, but heh speculate away. Remember Martins way is to leave it late, I have spoken with him about this and feels there are always going to be good players who have dropped down in peeking order at their club due to transfers coming in. So a player who wants out from a club who will be happy with a fee is a good deal.
