£20 - £23k is not a great salary for London compared to other professions.

As a starting salary plus in London and other cities I believe further allowances are given. And with Ample opportunity to increase it. Compared to other professions I guess you need to look at entry qualification requirements.

But I agree, for London maybe not too generous on reflection.

Tube drivers salary

The salary for a full-time Tube driver is £52,972 and £24,214 for Night Tube drivers as this position is part-time.

Starting to experienced:

Training salary is £32, 375, this is the same for full-time and Night Tube drivers as training is full-time.

Much more of an enticing career path .

You might get 10 or 20 years at a push out of it, but it'll be automated soon, so not really much of a career opportunity
